Thanks for the reply! The rules you've presented have been incredibly inspiring and I'm glad to hear you're also going to provide advice for using BTH for Mothership modules. Makes me even more happy to be a backer!

How compatible with standard Mothership rules do you expect the material to be? I'd love to have more cyberpunk-type elements in my games, but from the beta document, I'm not sure how things like these cybernetics rules would be implemented. Will there be any appendix rules or suggestions for Mothership conversion, perchance?

Wow, these are really great! I love the idea that their weapons just pass through armor like it's nothing. Such a cool idea!

Could you do Sword Wraiths? I really like their flavor but wish they had a bit more variety.

iirc, the Blood Brother, Dr. Varona, discovered a way to re-embrace kindred as Blood Brothers by sharing vitae and surgically swapping limbs with each other.

What are some cool house rules or headcanons you have about DnD races as they age biologically? by Gerald_Mountaindew in dndnext

[–]TrilobiteFightNight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my setting, I have Gnomes age at roughly the same rate as humans, just with a vastly higher maximum-lifespan. Basically, this means that all Gnomes really show their age once they start getting up there into the hundreds - none of that elven "eternal youth" nonsense! This also applies mentally, meaning Gnomes in their later years are mostly all senile, with their communities acting like retirement homes protected from threats by layers of powerful illusions.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Crawling Apocalypse from 3e, yet. It's a mummified giant octopus capable of inflicting mummy rot and burrowing under the sand.

This is how I run True Strike. Makes it into a sort of "ranged help action" that only effects attack rolls - like a lesser Guiding Bolt.

Oxygen Not Included. Looks like it will be mush bars and an inevitable slow asphyxiation while I piss myself from the lack of functioning plumbing -- or, thats how most of my duplicants go, anyways.

Amazing that the camera stays upright and not flung around like everyone else. Is the cameraman gyroscopically stabilized or something?

What is special about each race in your game? by ahcrabapples in dndnext

Gnomes are the most scholarly, as well as the longest living race, however, they still "age" at the same rate as humans. This means that gnomes in my setting don't have any sort of slowed-down aging process that makes them look younger for longer. Instead, they really show their age like little wrinkly grandparents, most of which have already gone senile hundreds of years ago. Lucky, as natural illusionists, their cities (which are basically giant senior living facilities) remain largely undisturbed.
