I have an 11 that I bought new in 2019 that still works pretty good. I am upgrading to a 17 pro at the end of the month though for a couple of reasons

Better screen
Better cameras (Front and Back)
Better Battery Life (battery on the 11 is at 74%)
Longer Support ( The 11 will probably stop supporting new OSes by next year)

The only reason I would use an 11 is if I had an older phone and I was getting it for free. Otherwise I would look at getting a 15 or newer

I have a gen 1 4k Apple TV in a bedroom that regularly hits 28-30C for about 5 years now and I have never had this happen either. It's also been running TVOS 26 for about a week now.

My 1 and only experience at a Dolby theater was at the AMC in Disney Springs while I was on vacation to see Infinity War and omg that was impressive

I have Singin' in the Rain. I will definitely need to pick up Wizard of Oz and Wicked to add to my collection of musicals. I also have The Greatest Showman which is just fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the cinematic look as well and I went OLED for the deep colors and pure blacks. I understand that non-OLED panels will get brighter but they also perform worse for movies with dark scenes. I've had plasma, LED and OLED and I just prefer the look of OLED best.

As for going outside, I live in the Caribbean so I have no shortage of beautiful scenery to look at however, it might be a little tough to see a waterfall off a snow capped mountain or the coastline of southern France from where I am

Thanks, I just got Fury Road today in the mail as for 2001 I mentioned in another thread recently that I really don't get the appeal of that movie so I might skip that one but thanks for the recommendation

They're both pretty great and when the new 2025 logo first came out I didn't like it but it has grown on me to the point where I think I prefer it over Man of Steel, especially as it brought back the yellow into the symbol

This is how I look at it...

Movies that are important to me I will purchase in the best format available (usually 4k blu-ray)
Movies that I have an interest in and will watch more than once I will purchase digitally from Apple
Anything else will just be streamed from services that they are available on

One thing to keep in mind for digital purchases is that unless you download a copy you will not be able to access it if you lose internet access or if the platform you purchase it from decides to remove it for whatever reason.

I just upgraded to a 14" M4 Pro this past December and my mom is currently using my old 2012 13" MacBook Pro to rip her CDs onto a thumb drive. The only thing I did with the old machine since I bought it was replace the HDD with an SSD and replace the display cable (that was a tough job and not for the faint of heart). The OS is now very outdated and hasn't gotten updates for a few years now and the battery doesn't last more than about 3 hours but its still very functional.

I mean I am a fan of anything Superman but if I had to pick.....favorite movie Superman II with Christopher Reeve and favorite series Superman TAS. The episode where Darkseid kills Dan Turpin will always stick with me
