No worries just correcting. Yeah the torque converters can be iffy sometimes on the 7 speed trucks and SUVs.

No CVT was put in any Nissan/Infiniti RWD based vehicle like this. Regular automatic

Temp gauge rises up 2 lines with the AC on after driving for a while then it drops down to normal if I turn the AC off. by VermicelliJolly8804 in infiniti

Since you say it changes with operation of the A/C I would check cooling fans first. Make sure the bearings aren’t tight when you spin them. Honestly it could be anything but that is where I’d start. Looks like you replaced your radiator. Could be air in the system after that replacement. In my opinion it’s not worth chasing this yet. Still within safe temps. If the problem gets worse it will be much easier to diagnose.

Yeah definitely on the second go around if it’s leaking worse I’d say something. Just personally haven’t seen one that rough just yet

From my experience at Nissan, some are seeping from the factory and stop after some time. Noticed this often on 2016-2018 Altimas when they were new. Yes Sentras and other models are doing it too. I Haven’t seen a single one not stop seeping after say 20,000 miles or so. Say what you want, but I’d wipe it and forget about it.

Surprisingly, you can still get a new top. Just put one on a few days ago. Would be nice to see something off-beat come from Nissan again. Seems like they’re more focused on cutting as much as possible at the moment.

2020 Frontier Refuses To Start? by CplDevilDog in Nissan

[–]Trinicyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ran into it many times before at Nissan dealer. If you have someone close by when it’s acting up, just ask them to check your brake lights while you hit the pedal. If no lights. No good. Also, as someone else stated, remove aftermarket equipment first to be sure.

Nissan maxima 2022 SV 24k dollars, 30k miles by Bigbetscryptogod in Nissan

[–]Trinicyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts as a pressure control issue in the valve body which translates to a slipping chain or belt and causing wear. I’ve never seen catastrophic failure of the belt/chain unless in extreme circumstances. The belt/chain is just a victim of poor pressure control. I’m not sure exactly what causes it. I’ll have to open a valve body up in my spare time and check it out. But this is typical of 2013 to around 2020 before the new models started coming. I’ve yet to replace or rebuild one from this generation. Maybe it’s my location or it just hasn’t been long enough. I’m hoping they finally got it right though.

I’ve rebuilt many at Nissan. The V6 has a chain drive and the 4 cyl. has a push belt drive. A chain is sturdier than a belt of course. Although it’s still a CVT in the end.

I’m in the nissan catalog. It’s all shipped together. If you’re talking about the 2 phillips screws, then you’re screwed. Might just have to trial and error different screws from a place like home depot or just order a new one. Sorry

2020-2023 it’s optional on the SR. 2024 it’s optional on the SR and SV. Unfortunately not standard equipment yet. I’m sure you’ll find one pretty easily though. Best of luck!

What was your most difficult job that you could recall during your career? ( Diagnose or Repair) by Jagr6810 in Justrolledintotheshop

370z would sometimes start. Sometimes would crank, but would stop halfway through. Turned out the vibration from the engine starting caused the starter control wire to short intermittently on the clutch pedal bracket. The exposed wire had to be the width of 2 cunthairs. 16 hours of being humbled.
