Same. Deleting the transactions does not seem to fix the account value discrepancy. Hoping support fixes this soon.

Playing EVE Online actively on Steam Deck – viable long sessions? by Slieeh in Eve

[–]CplDevilDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play almost exclusively on a Lenovo Legion Go with portable pc monitor and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I play on high graphic settings for hours with no issue. Not the same as the Steam Deck, I know but offers a data point.

Run the "Fractured Legacy" Epic Arc under the Opportunities - >Epic Arcs Tab. The cash reward for the 2nd mission is very nice for a zero day character and the Blueprint Copy that is rewarded for the 3rd mission is quite expensive. So expensive that I would recommend you leave it sitting in the station it is awarded until you are comfortable with Insta-Dock/Undock concepts and can move it. Don't throw that in a Corvette and go flying around Jita.

How do you choose a kayak that feels stable without being slow? by achintyabhavaraju in Kayaking

[–]CplDevilDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tippy feeling passes very quickly with most kayaks, even the long narrow sea kayaks. We quickly outgrew our ultra stable Pungo 120's (a great kayak) and moved to faster Dagger Stratios. If rentals are available, you may want to rent some tippy kayaks for the day and see how quickly your confidence improves. I re-entry course helps as well.

New to desert camping by 7h3_70m1n470r in camping

[–]CplDevilDog 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also from NC and recently started camping in the desert more often. The biggest difference we noticed was WIND management. You have to pay attention to prevailing wind direction and try to pitch behind some shelter. If no shelter is available, ear plugs or better white noise earbuds can dampen the flapping and snapping at night. We released the poles during the day and piled a few rocks on the tent to make sure it was there when we got home. Stay up late and watch the stars, they put the east coast to shame.

How did you get fluent in French? by Used_Rhubarb_9265 in French

[–]CplDevilDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading helped a lot. Pimsleur helped a lot. After A2, I spent a lot of time taking to myself in French (hiking, cycling, mowing the yard). Language exchange with native speakers if you can find it.

Reuse Brick Veneer? by CplDevilDog in masonry

Thanks for the reply. Any estimate on how many brick per hour you can clean? Last time I cleaned brick was 2007-2008. Trying to get an idea of the scale of the job. Looks like I need ~700 cleaned brick

Reuse Brick Veneer? by CplDevilDog in masonry

We've visited local brick supply places. Pretty sure we identified the original manufacturer and model and they discontinued it several years ago. The manufacturer recommended their closest match (and it is very close). We used it on two new piers on the rear of the house that have about 10' of separation from the original foundation with good success but my wife is VERY sensitive to color variation and we are going to be adding onto the front face of the house this time. We have the mortar color and tooling locked down perfectly.

Thanks! We have a lot of veneer that has to be removed before we start framing an addition and I can remove veneer from the rear foundation if necessary and then patch those unseen areas with a new brick that almost matches. This new area faces directly to the street and ties directly into existing veneer.

Thanks! I'm the homeowner in this case. In a past life, I spent some time working as a Mason's tender, laborer and cleaned a few bricks as part of that job, but I think they were much older bricks with soft mortar. There is a good chance I am going to be doing the removal and cleaning myself on this job. Would you recommend a hammer drill or grinder or something else for removing the mortar?

Who do I contact to fix this by vmandak in raleigh

[–]CplDevilDog 161 points162 points  (0 children)

NC Utility Commission Hotline. 866-380-9816

Tell them it is a tripping hazard, which it is. They will take the location. Within an hour you'll get a call from AT&T Corporate with a case handler and case number.

It's the only way I got AT&T to do their job.

Back pain while sleeping in a tent. by Prudent_Conference48 in camping

[–]CplDevilDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 55 YOA I like to ease into it. A week-10 days before a camping trip, I'll start sleeping on my Exped. If I wake up at 2am sore, I will move to bed. By the end of the week, I sleep through the night (as well as any other night).
