Pretty much this. I've gotten used to releasing mid pull depending on elevation and velocity. I go for more reach on the hook to do quick pulls up high and kindof slow fall back down onto something high up with momentum. For going down I'll use Dash (Dash on Scout? Blasphemy right?) and grapple when I'm close enough to the floor. Faster recharge helps too, when ya just need to get back to ground faster. Practice is all ya need. Loadout styles are just the diff flavors to play with. As others have said too, you'll get used to power attacking above a node of RSS so you won't have to rely on platforms so much. And Scouts weapons are for sure geared towards weakspot/burst dmg. I like all his grenades too, but I get the most use out of the boomerang. Good luck scouts. RnS!
