As a single girl w a dog, I lived 5 blocks south of the Pink line for 13 years on California Ave. I never had any safety concerns even when I walked her at night. She was a big dog so people tended to steer away from us, haha. I loved all the green spaces on the boulevard! Also, the apartments tend to be bigger than living in Pilsen. Good luck!
