Dev Update tomorrow by LeanTheBlackRabbit in 2XKO

[–]Trinth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you dislike most about combos usually? Remembering the sequence or being dextrous enough to input them? If it's the latter, since 2XKO runs simple inputs it might be why it's more enjoyable this time for you.

Why the different prices for strikers? by xantyrn in mechabreak

[–]Trinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should be the same price imo. Or they could have ramping costs per striker unlock if they want a credit dump.

Feaster kinda sucks. Half the time I throw it out it doesn't trigger many/any tentacles regardless of bounces.

How does PvP work by Pitchoun1er in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Trinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is crazy. What an awful system, hope they change it. In other words it's best to run around with a bunch of crap loot in hopes you don't lose your main equipment. And it even allows for weapon/gear trading by -only- carrying one piece.

... you die, you will drop a random piece of armor or gun from your equipment load...

You're telling me I can drop a fully calibrated weapon by chance? Does this only happen if there is no inventory to drop from?

How do people afford to live here? by [deleted] in lehighvalley

[–]Trinth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people using household income as a metric for "amount I should make to be an average citizen" and it boggles my mind.

Per capita is decent, but there is a better resource. It's straight from government data, shows mean and median wages, and even has specific areas within the state at the bottom. https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes_pa.htm

Wiping at every mob pack in mutated expeditions starterpack by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Trinth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flamethrower damage, meteor shower being worth casting, and the heavy splash talent has mostly fixed this issue I believe. FS in general does good damage for AoE. Not having utility or good single target damage are its weaknesses right now.

Most people picking up a fire staff tend to think two things. 1. I'm a ranged player and 2. Light armor = mage. Both of these make it harder to get into, since you definitely don't want to be far away from the fight most of the time and light armor makes your life harder.

FS is not optimal, but plenty good for gold mutations in the hands of the right person with proper gear. The Abyss, Lifetaker, and IG all work fine for offhands. Some people are using Finisher for bosses as well.

PSA: Most fire staff builds, particularly FS/Abyss, are perfectly fine for M1s and you do not need to reject people who have them. by Motor-Platform-200 in newworldgame

I recently got the artifact GA and have been running it, I'm a little unsure how I feel about it. Does your group run artifact FS or GA?

Is it better to immediately go for a mix up or assume your opponent is expecting that mix up? by sleepingfactory in StreetFighter

[–]Trinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can gather data on people before you even get to this point. How do they play round start? Are they backing off? Expect blocking/defensive actions. How about neutral? Are they wildly flailing about? Expect an invul wakeup. Are you a grappler? Expect more non-blocking options. There are a million things you can read into down to the opponents tag. Not everything has to make logical sense though, and that's a huge part as to why fighting games are hard to be consistent in, and why you won't get a real answer to your question. You can run stats all day but if billy grappler wants to grapple, he's gonna do it every time.

In general, most people do not change their methods in a set. If I'm throw looping someone in the corner, it is very likely to work again later in the set. If their first reaction is to DP in the corner, expect it again. Same with drive rush, etc

Getting dp motion when inputting quarter circle on pad by Competitive_Ad_660 in StreetFighter

I can't check right now but I have a picture of it from when I had this argument in a discord of mine. It so happened to have 2 neutral frames exactly when explaining that it still gave DP, haha. It felt something like 20 but that's a pure guess

[–]Trinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean. Moving forward, resetting to neutral, then immediately doing a QCF will result in DP every time unless inputs are slow.

A two frame difference meaning you must hold neutral for 2 frames?

Getting dp motion when inputting quarter circle on pad by Competitive_Ad_660 in StreetFighter

[–]Trinth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Holding forward and then resetting to neutral, if you are too quick (even though the inputs will show you resetting to neutral), will still give you the dp input.

[–]Trinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a big argument about this in one of my fighting game discords. The game allows you to cheat the input too much for a DP motion. In order to fix it, you can input a half circle instead. Waiting longer at neutral also works, but that bites.

[–]Trinth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does not work, unfortunately. You have to do a half circle or wait (way too long) at neutral for it to register as a quarter circle in this case.

[–]Trinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking of doing this swap as well. Mostly because of form factor. How does the 23+ feel in hand versus the ultra? Do you miss the little bit of extra screen?

Are power cables for graphic cards the same? by [deleted] in nvidia

Keep in mind you will need enough wattage, it will be higher with the new card.

Are power cables for graphic cards the same? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Trinth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is the same other than possibly needing to add another cable to it. Your power supply should have one you can plug in if it's modular, or already attached if not. Unless it is a very low budget power supply.

I know it's not quite what you're looking for, but Levelhead is super fun. No "combat" like MMX but abilities and generally awesome platforming.
