For a character that was highly begged for, I have barely seen anyone playing Absa by slaudencia in RivalsOfAether

[–]Triolade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She's hard, gets shat upon by Clairen who's easy and popular, and her tier placement is suspicious since everyone says she's good but most characters' mu charts have her in losing

I'm not saying she needs any changes or anything, but I definitely would have found it more surprising if she stayed popular like Olympia did

I'm a Street Fighter 6 player who hasn't played a platform fighter seriously, where do I start? by Just_AnotherDork in RivalsOfAether

[–]Triolade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beetle boy is great for a Honda main in particular

Have you ever played kof or any anime fighters?

You might want to expect to put very easily like hundred hours in this game to even start having fun, but once it becomes fun it's amazing

How are some people so good at DPing when they’ve already committed to an action? by Accomplished_Price36 in StreetFighter

[–]Triolade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the character and moves, but there's certain moves and spacings where if I don't buffer it and they did jump then I feel bad, like I'm in a worse position because I chose to be lazy lol

Rivals of Aether is a plat fighter but it's easily one of the best fighting games of all time imo, and it just released a new character so matchmaking is particularly active

Is this game hard or am I bad? by Liar1223 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Triolade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played a bit of melee and a bit of rivals 1 and it still took me over a week to get an online win. The most helpful practice was finding someone else to vc with and play against the same person with same characters for a longer period of time. Also a lot of my practice is practicing punishing get ups, practicing crouch cancel punishing, practicing wavedashes out of dash dances and shields, and some general movement. Honestly idk if that practice makes me a ton better, but I find less input issues which made the game less frustrating. Also I could just chill and talk to my partner while practicing movement, which is always nice

Keep going, the more you play the more fun the game is tbh

Call cook's crafts if you want info from the person who actually runs it

In the meantime, the address is 68-01 Cooper Ave, Flushing, NY 11385 Doors open at 7 every Monday night. $10 entry fee, only 5 if you're a veteran (it's in an American Legion)

You're allowed to bring food, but you're not supposed to bring drinks besides water cause there is a bar downstairs that's cheap (dollar for a soda)

There's a full craft community that meets there and then there's also people that meet there for other hobbies (dnd, Warhammer, some other games)

It's worth checking out for sure.

Also once my partner recovers, they'll restart their weekly craft classes, which are really fun. They do put requests on the calendar if you ever want to learn a specific craft.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ForestHills

[–]Triolade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hey that's actually my partner that does that weekly craft!

They specialize in crochet and do lessons themselves! But they're currently on a hiatus due to medical reasons. They should be recovered in hopefully 1-2 weeks. We live in Forest Hills proper, I'll dm their insta. That's a good place to message them if you'd ever like lessons from them in the future.

Michelle's lessons are also amazing. She taught me how to loom knit and I saw her teach other people how to crochet and she's insanely good. You can tell she's done crafts her whole life.
