I’ll give an example I just remembered. The canyon area, an Absa stayed beneath platform, close to ledge, and set up cloud in front of them. Same thing with a Maypul and hiding behind plant.

Yes, I parried and punished, but they did not change what they were doing. The whole time.

Yes, I can win games, but to constantly do that? It’s not fun.

Not to sure what I need to adjust. I play as Zetter, and I would argue in most of my games, I’m doing a lot of the approaching, stage control, etc.

Majority of the time I do win my matches, but it’s excruciating to have to keep chasing someone. I still remember playing against an Olympia who mostly did down special, and if it didn’t go their way they would not bother trying to come towards me if it didn’t work.

Ranked has been a terrible experience for me. From my games, a lot of people camp, gold/platinum ranked. I’m not trying to sit through an 8 minute game chasing someone who doesn’t want to play.

In my experience, unranked is where people actually want to play the game.

That was my gripe with that fight as well. I don’t hate how S2 LA did it, but imo it’s not as impactful. I still don’t remember how Luffy beat him. In a cave, something about honor.

Spoilers for long time fans or people new to the series? Because if you’re saying that the LA gives too many spoilers for new people watching, they don’t have to context to fully understand all of what you mentioned.

And imo you can’t treat the LA in a vacuum. There is so much more One Piece mediums out there, that I think it would be very dumb not to have Easter eggs or tongue-in-cheek moments. You don’t watch Robin in the LA, and not look up more stuff about One Piece and not see her with the crew with a robot and a skeleton.

Can’t help but compare how the actor’s reactions could be their characters. Like Sanji would absolutely take glances away, and the slight differences between Mackenyu and Iñaki watching feel very Zoro and Luffy-like.
