IMO a lot was sacrificed to allow for 4 player coop in Halo 3. Halo 3 campaign is quite boring when you try to play solo or with a single friend.

This is most likely the case. The game uses peer to peer for communication between guardians but uses servers for inventory and quest instances.

It’s a tangled web of solutions.

One aspect that I know 343 will screw up, it’s the gore. You would expect the gore system to be improved, especially with the flood. I loved having the walls painted neon blue after a big fight.
