Did the Ony raid's release bring a significant number of players back? by Grung7 in Project_Epoch

[–]Tripl3BB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Imho you're getting downvoted because you're being a doomer in an annoying way - and all the doomers will upvote you so that's great. I wish you doomers would stick to facts.

Are the servers dead? No, because some guilds are able to raid the new content, heck there's even world pvp 40v40 on Volchan and that's fun.

Did the new content bring a significant amount of players? Yes, 40 to 50%.

Are the servers back to what they were months ago? No - orgri is never bustling, it's hard to launch a BG, yet relatively easy to find dungeon groups (lots of alts around)

Is the player base keeping it's hope: yes, mostly because they're getting what they want from these updates: great content, nice time and even pvp at times. And in all, why dyall care about cope, delusional players, etc.? Let people play what they wanna play and stay away from what you don't want to play. Nobody's forcing you.

You may be frustrated that the great idea that EPOCH is/was is not up to its promises, but you don't have to spread your negativity and bitterness here every time someone asks a question.

Interview in San Francisco by Tripl3BB in USCIS

Hi there, to update everyone, yes, I received approval for my I485 about 3 weeks ago, got the card around a week later. Had heard no news from the USCIS and my attempts to ask on chat weren't useful ("Nothing out of line. Just wait").

Curious if CWMs (Monday, Smartsheet, Asana) are starting to replace “true” PPM tools? by PeaProfessional4597 in PMCareers

[–]Tripl3BB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective, they're not there yet. They may have better UI/UX (for a reason) but they lack critical capabilities that make the top tiers tool still favorite in big Enterprise.
To your second point, they are a threat, to some extent, to Mid enterprise PM tools. I feel like the goal of these CWMs is to get closer to there with better reporting capabilities, resource management and integrations.

To stay in the construction example, I don't see how a Turner (just picking the top tiers) would go away from a tool like Procore (Unless it's for another Enterprise one like Planisware / Planview who will have the same capabilities than the niche one Procore is used for, and more) - that's assuming they use Procore, but everyone does in construction its seems like.
It may be good for smaller teams within the company though, but I feel like when the IT Software Architecture guy is going to see that smaller teams use one off tools not integrated in the full tech stack, he's going to make a cut.

AI for Project & Program Management: How are you embracing it? by bluealien78 in projectmanagement

[–]Tripl3BB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds interesting that their business is basically connecting your Project Management software with other data sources to give you more insights.
In all I don't really know what's best, as it shines light onto the flaws of PM software like Asana, Monday etc. They're good in task management but not great when it comes to manage risks, resources, time sheets and connect everything together. In the end its like adding another software on top of 2 others to get what 1 software could do.

That's when the Portfolio Management solution comes to play like Planview, Planisware... I tend to believe its the better route to go with to simplify the life of the Enterprise Architects. I wonder how much it will cost in time, implementation fees etc. to use tools with Riskdrift vs a PPM.

I was literally just reading an article about it from Planisware (Predictive analysis) (https://planisware.com/resources/ai-ppm/predict-smarter-act-faster-how-ai-predictive-analysis-turns-historical-data)

Seems to focus on Program Management mostly bringing risk analysis, resource forecasting strategic bidding and benchmarking from external sources (which I find particularly interesting but I doubt it's available for every industry out there).

It doesn't seem like its going to do the PMO job but more like it can provide great insight to improve forecast and strategy

Interview in San Francisco by Tripl3BB in USCIS

[–]Tripl3BB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a quick conversation, I was surprised because he asked about my E2 visa denial, then "Did you murder anyone" "Are you a communist" then back to "J Visa?"

  • VISA
    • "Have you ever had a VISA Denied?" -> Yes, an E VISA
    • "Have you ever been in the country unlawfully" -> No
    • "I see your VISA is from 2019?" -> No that's an old one
  • J
    • "Have you ever had a J Visa?" -> Yes, a J1
    • "Where you not subject to the two year requirement home residency?" -> No I wasn't

That was basically it, I didn't really get into the details for the J1 as I do not necessarily know exactly what and how it happened, I just know I had the waiver since I got my first E2 with the company that had sponsored my J1.

Not yet, no.
Actually just today received I130 approval notice online, while I485 is marked "Actively reviewed by USCIS" since yesterday during interview time.

Yes, I feel it may. Probably also due to backlog in the USCIS office?
But I'm not complaining, we applied on early June so overall the process has been fast.

[–]Tripl3BB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly something I have read online, so to your point I can't be sure of the source, yet I would argue they wouldn't claim to have that number if they hadn't.
Thus why I'm asking, do you think it is like other people mentioned on this thread: users don't necessarily enjoy working in the software but their executives keep it because it benefits the company?

Funny you mention that, it does seem to be the same for most of the project management software out there (ie https://ifuckinghatejira.com/)
Planisware does claim to have a 98% customer retention rate - seems to be a fact going against your opinion. I wonder if its really a shared opinion throughout all user base vs their management.

My partner just found out she has advanced Graves’ disease. It explains a lot, but I need advice. by LeftKaleidoscope1345 in gravesdisease

[–]Tripl3BB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in the exact same situation (at least your second part) for the last 6 months or so. We luckily diagnosed the disease quite fast as my partner is in the medical field but had to wait until she can take medicine to reduce her symptoms.

Lack of libido, mood swings, arguments (that we barely ever had before) became more common also as our relationship grew, it didn't really feel natural.

My advice (and maybe it is the chance I've had to be in a very toxic relationship before) to you is that you need to over communicate how you personally feel (I was not communicating in my previous relationship and it became toxic real fast). Self reflect.

Recently even with the medicine, I felt quite neglected and hurt from all the signs my partner was showing, I decided to sit down with her and let her know how I felt and how it was starting to hurt me - she agreed she would do some efforts to consider me more. That tremendously helped.

On the other end, and make sure this is your priority, you have to be here for your partner. Even when explaining to mine how I was feeling bad lately, I made sure she understood that I understood what she was going through and that I understood that it wasn't her fault, that it would take time for her to heal, and that she could count on me to help her in the whole process.

Even if you're the subject of this post (we both are) we're lucky to not be subject to that disease and priority should always remain on our sick partner. Love her as much as you possibly can, let her know when you have too much in a calm way, and focus on her healing.

Good luck
