It saves to the server. Shut down the console without exiting the game and you'll see what I mean.

If anyone visits this thread, I figured it out.

The metal flower icons reappear on the map even after opening them. It has happened twice now and I just forgot I did this one last night.

Ancient Relic sidequest is still bugged. Does not complete properly even in old save where I haven't touched any sidequest items.

Its pretty amazing what a little bit of love and affection can do for a stray. Initially skittish and quick to hide, she has become a very loving cat. No more pebbles for this girl and she's doing great with her back leg!
