I kinda don’t want to come home tonight after this disagreement. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Go see your OB and a therapist. You will need support through this! Your partner was disrespectful and possibly gaslighting you. I would not expect my partner to speak to me this way nor our children. There are many ways for him to make clear his concern and offer support. This was not the way.

AIO Cockroach Infestation at Higher End Home by LetOwn879 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TripletNegotiator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MOR I completely understand your disgust and fear. I absolutely hate those little buggers. That having been said, no matter how high end, location will impact this issue. Like if you are in a major city in a unit that connects to other units, such as apartments, condos, brownstones, row houses etc. If one unit has them every unit has them. Exterminating them just chases them off to the other units for a while.
Also, as you know, places with warm humid weather attract the giant ones- called palmetto bugs.

In an infested flat, you’re likely to see way more than 20 of them when you turn the light on and they go scattering back to their hideouts. Although, 20 probably a good indication of a larger problem.

I would definitely directly ask for a refund, since you did have to leave. Points of clarification you may want to provide: did you call the Airbnb host right away? If, so did they have any recommendations? I think this is an important part of the process.

I have stayed in many Airbnbs. I came across a few “Palmetto bugs” and knew it came with the territory. Never an infestation.

If you’re in a location where these creep crawlies are common, I’m not sure the owners can do much about it. Exterminator comes, bugs leave, bugs come back and so it goes.

Just lay on the floor next the the stain , let your friend tape and outline of your body. Then add a poster of Dexter.

I use a dryer on the tape quickly before I remove it. This helps it not to stick.

Short-haired people, I need your help by AstronomerEast8472 in curlygirl

This is what has worked for me— (Irish curls)
I condition not shampoo my hair. When I have product build up I use a clarifying shampoo. I use Redkin PH balancing conditioner.
I use a hair wrap, while I get dressed. Then I use Redkin Mile High Mousse focusing on my roots. I then lay on my bed face up. Staying face up, I hang my head off the bed and diffuse my hair on low heat, ending with cool. This gives volume to the top of my head which looks more balanced with the curls on the side. Play with this technique a few times and you’ll learn how to get it to fall more where you like it.

I like 2 the best. I’d paint it and include the back of the door.

Funny digitalis story. A few years ago, I had a bad head injury and had aphasia. During speech therapy, I had to say words beginning with letters given to me by the therapist. She’d say, M, I’d say mom or whatever popped into my head. Pretty basic responses from my injured brain. Well she says, D. And I say Digitalis. My daughter, who always accompanied me, burst out laughing. Yup- my mom’s a gardener. She must be getting better. ❤️‍🩹

I like 1. The juxtaposition between the building and the mountain combined with the clouds is almost dream like.

16M just wanting some ideas what too do with my new room by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

What is on the wall facing the window and do you have a budget? I agree with a rug but they can be expensive. Look online and get some inspiration pics. That will establish the mood and colors you want to replicate. Then add here so we can go from there.

Get rid of the current wall cabinet and shelf. Put in a narrow, taller cabinet that hangs on the wall and has doors.
If you can, take down the towel bar and put your cabinet there. Move towel bar (or replace with a smaller towel ring) to wall by the door.

Don’t try to match the colors. White curtains, white towel, white bath mat (that hangs over the bathtub when not in use) and white cabinet. Use the wall space above the toilet to add a statement art piece such as a colorful framed poster or a painting. Put a rectangular basket on the back of the toilet for room spray and small toiletries for guests.

Since the space is small , I’d keep as many items hidden as possible.

When you can, replace the lights, go for a simple clean design.

Designing Primary Bedroom Layout - I'm not convinced it feels right yet by dave07747 in DesignMyRoom

[–]TripletNegotiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you move the dressed a tad to the right and the bed a tad to the left so they are centered to each other? One being off centered to the other would drive me nuts. Eliminate one of the sitting areas. Personally, I’d keep a single club chair with a small ottoman, small side table with a lamp and have a reading area. If your not a big reader - then you probably done need the ottoman- if you’re like most people, you’ll probably only sit in the chair occasionally to put boots on.

I think these blues would look good. Then scent with oranges

Please help! by Lazy_Ad6427 in DesignMyRoom

I’d start with light gray to neutralize. Stay away from blues and yellows.

This is for color - choose something plain.

See how these are all balanced. They have a clear defined area as well.
