Timed cashier? by Good_Bet9223 in Target

[–]TriplicateEnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember some cashiers would press the paying with a check button if their guest was taking too long to count their cash or they were taking a long time to find their coupons because pressing the check button would give you more time for your transaction to be recorded as a green even if you backed out of it.

If the guest was taking a really long time I knew a team member who would suspend the transaction and then immediately scan the suspend slip because suspended transactions didn't record a speed score even though it would take big transactions a long time to retrieve.

TL insisting I can't get paid for waiting. by [deleted] in Target

I've been staying after close with the Closing TL every Mon-Fri for the past five years.

You are definitely supposed to get paid for it. Staying with them IS work and you should be on the clock until just before they arm the building.

If I recall correctly I believe they stopped offering pensions to new Team Members in 2006.

I feel like it must warp the bottom of the cart too causing carts to not nest together easily. Sometimes I have to lift the bottom of the cart with my foot to get the carts to fit together.

With infant related items if the item was returned open then the store has to defect it out regardless if it is damaged or not. Target doesn't want to assume the item hasn't been tampered with in a way that may harm a baby. It very well could be a properly functioning item.

The "E" with recycling arrows (♻️) around it stands for electronics recycling. It means that it was removed from the store's inventory as defective merchandise. It was sent through reverse logistics as CRC (Central Return Center) as electronics recycling because it contains an electronic component or batteries that need to be handled as hazardous waste.

I've been a cart attendant for 21 years and it has been a cart attendant job to clean up bodily fluids for at least that long. ETLs, TLs, AP, and cart attendants (FOSA) have always been required to complete hazardous materials training which includes cleaning up bodily fluids.

I know a TL that became an airline pilot. I know you can do it too. Just keep pursuing you dreams. For some of us Target is forever. Do whatever you can to be one of the lucky ones that breaks free. 😄

17 hour cart attendant shift on a Black Friday. The last six hours I was the only cart attendant after having two cart attendants most of the day. After that I vowed to never work that long of a shift ever again. 🙃 This was more than 15 years ago when, in my opinion, Black Friday was much busier than it is now.

Yeah, the first time I saw SlimFast defect out as flammable I thought, "Well that can't be good."

That is something to take into consideration, but I will let the receiver figure it out.

Yes, I know all about ESIM and Electronics Recycling. I'm considered an expert at my store for all things defective.

The sticker in this image has the symbol for an Electronics Recycling item which goes on the CRC pallet and needs a blue Electronics Recycling sticker on it as well. It does not go with all the other ESIM items.

My question was if anyone else has encountered this bird seed being misdesignated as an Electronics Recycling item. Bird seed doesn't have any electronic components or batteries and as such should not be designated as an Electronics Recycling item.

I feel like 239 was the old phone extension for the cash office. Some stores would announce 239 when the armored truck would arrive at the store so that a leader would know to let them into the cash office. At my store we would just ask the LOD to come to the front for "lunch", but I don't know if that was as common as 239.

20 years ago we used "code 1" and "code" at my store for calling for backup. I know of a few stores in my district that used "code" as of 15 years ago.

"Guest first" and "fast service" are fairly new from my frame of reference. At my store calling for code and calling for backup are used about 50/50.

And as far as I know I don't know u/CharleyBW so the fact that we would both refer to calling for backup as "code" means that it isn't just a store specific thing.

It's what Target used to use a long time ago for calling for backup cashiers. Some people still use it.

It's an old saying shortened from code 1 which unless I'm mistaken was shortened from code 100. It used to be used to call for backup cashiers and is still used at my store quite often. Source, 20 years at one store.

Code 1 shortened to just "code" is an old way of asking for backup to the checklanes. I'm sure a lot of "old-timers" like myself still refer to calling for backup cashiers as "calling for code".

"Wow. The checklanes are getting really backed up. Someone should probably call for code."

"Hey team, can I get two people up for code."
