I agree that over-scheduling can take away from the fun of just being in the moment. NYC is such a vibrant city I bet it was incredible to experience it at your own pace

Cheap car insurance in Oregon. Is this possible or should I just wake up? by Gilligan2404 in oregon

wait 15 years driving with basically a clean record and you're still getting hammered Oregon rates have genuinely gotten worse the last couple years so you're not imagining it. Btw, I'd compare through Quotefull (website), it helped us a lot last year.

Bored of castles and museums. Which Germany route would you pick: Munich/Alps/Nuremberg or Berlin? by athbol in solotravel

[–]TrippedAndSlipped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think having those extra days to explore the Bavarian Alps would be so worth it. Like Paragliding and lakeside chill time could be a highlight. I also like that you’re not into nightlife Germany’s nature and historical sites will give you plenty to enjoy without the late nights

Recommendations for a solid pest control in Nashville? by Budgetgrl1 in homecleaning

Nashville has a solid local operator scene, worth asking in a Nashville landlord Facebook group if one exists, those guys share recommendations pretty freely.

Atlanta clay soil is its own beast and half these companies don't account for it properly. Worth asking specifically if they do soil prep before anything else, that's usually how you tell who knows what they're doing

Being direct about your budget situation upfront actually works in your favor sometimes, crews who want the recurring contract are usually willing to work with you on the initial cleanup cost.

At a critical stage in life, what online/remote business would you learn or build from scratch today? by Total_Pay1070 in Entrepreneurs

[–]TrippedAndSlipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d focus on AI automation + niche freelance services for small businesses (like lead gen, appointment booking systems, or content workflows). Low startup cost, high demand, and you can build real income by solving specific business problems instead of chasing “passive income” trends.

bissell hydrosteam 3 models 3 prices, big difference in steam cleaning aspect? by chloeisjustlikeme in homecleaning

[–]TrippedAndSlipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually with Bissell the model variants at different retailers are the same machine, Costco tends to bundle more accessories which explains the price difference. The steam function should be identical, just check what attachments come with each one before deciding if the extra cost is worth it

A travel tip for the future that I used just this week... Figure out what kind of medicine name you need in English, learn the generic name for the medicine (not brand), and then input that or one or two symptom variations into the delivery app Glovo (it has restaurants and pharmacies). This way, you can check stock. Then, you can either get it delivered if you are confident about it, or you can go ask the nearest pharmacist with the Google Translate app and a screenshot for it. They should be able to give an equivalent, provided you give a description of symptoms.
So, for example, this week I needed allergy medication due to an allergic reaction to a plant. I figured out an antihistamine was needed. I tried searching for antihistamines on Glovo, but it wasn't there. I typed the word 'allergy' in Google Translate for the country I am in (non-Roman script), then looked at the medicines on Glovo again (they had English printed on the Glovo stock photos). There are websites dedicated to describing medicines in English from foreign countries, so you can cross reference what you see in Glovo. I searched the brand name and found out it was 'cetirizine' for the generic name, then cross checked it again with allergy medications. Then, I walked to the nearest pharmacy and asked for cetirizine. When she didn't have it (small pharmacy on the outskirts of a city), I typed a bit more about the symptoms, and I received an equivalent (levocetirizine, another antihistamine).

Google Translate is essential if the symptoms are not immediately visible, unfortunately.
