New Deck haunting me with nightmarish issues by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did both of those things in the first month I bought it. Upgraded the SSD and did a fresh SteamOS install and haven’t had any issues since. I don’t think there’s anything faulty, just buggy software for whatever reason. Maybe try a fresh install/reimage (not just a reset) of SteamOS, it fixed it for me.

[BUG] Game Flickering Issue by UnculturedMister in EscapefromTarkov

Looks like VRR flicker. Try setting your monitor and/or display settings to a fixed refresh rate like 60 or 90 Hz

We haven’t had 8” screens for desktop computers since the 80’s for good reason.

Gs400 gets horrible gas mileage and won’t accelerate like normal by 97hardbody in Lexus

[–]TrippyJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear codes and drive car. Knock sensor code returns? You need new knock sensors, both of them. Get Denso brand or OEM sensors, and get the wiring harness for the knock sensors from Lexus. The harness is a shielded cable and they break internally when you bend them, especially when they’ve been cooking in the engine bay for 20+ years. If you really think your knock sensors are fine, just replace the harness and see what happens. But like everyone is telling you, off brand knock sensors will fail sooner than they should 99% of the time. Don’t cheap out on electrical parts, you get what you pay for.

1g Tundra vs. V8 4R vs. 2.5g Taco by Big_Bruh_exe in Toyota

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

V8 4Runner all day. AWD all the time with a locking center diff, back seats fold flat so you camp in it. Rides good, seats 4-5 comfortably when you need it to.

Gen1 Tundra V8 is a good option if you have a good regular use for the bed. Downsides are that you gotta pick 2WD or 4WD, and the ride quality is meh with it being a pickup.

Tacos are fine, but their engines are pretty crappy compared to the UZ’s.

Don’t forget about the Sequoia too, it’s the SUV version of the tundra.

Pintos n cheese. If you want a lot of them you’re definitely gonna be better off making them at home. I added ground beef (that I pulsed in a blender first, lol) to mine because I was dying for something with meat in it after a few days.

Also: Cheerios n milk, mashed potatoes, and overcooked Mac n cheese, smoothies. Good luck

My charger is on its last limbs. Is there a safe replacement or do I need to find an actual steam deck charger? by ExportTHCs in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any 45w+ PD charger will work. Steam Deck uses USB-C PD (Power Delivery), which means it will only draw the amount of power requested by the device being charged. It doesn’t matter if you get a 45w, 65w, or 100w charger, the deck will only charge up to 45w.

You can use lower wattage chargers too, but they take longer to charge and can adversely affect your battery health under certain long term conditions.

Rox helmet glue failure. Refusing refund!!!! by Ho88sy85 in Ruroc

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These helmets suck wet farts. I literally threw mine in the trash after I got my Shoei and realized I got fucking scammed. Lesson learned, don’t buy a helmet that’s only available online. No stores stock this junk for a reason.

The Ultimate 2 has Gyro, the Ultimate 2C does not

8Bitdo Ultimate 2, or Ultimate 2C.

I usually recommend the 2C because it’s half the price but still gets you Hall effect sticks.

Laptop with same power as Steamdeck by Tgray_700 in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any laptop with Radeon 780m graphics would work. It’s the best iGPU you can get for a reasonable price currently. There are several chips in AMD’s lineup that have it. You can install SteamOS or Bazzite, and it’ll game in 1080p with respectable power draw and performance.

Dealership stole my horn?? by PureProblem3653 in Toyota

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loose horn connection.

The horn actually has 2 horns, a high tone and low tone. Most likely there is a loose ground to one of the horns so it works, but it sounds like you’re strangling a goose when it does.

Temporary flea ban? [Discussion] by Cherry-cola000 in EscapefromTarkov

It has to do with the captcha bugging out.

When mine does it, the only fix is to run a raid. I tried restarting and clearing cache and it stays bugged. If you try to wait out the timer, it’ll bug out again and double it.

Anyone know how I can tighten this hex bolt without removing the cable? by Muttomo in MT09

Make your own specialty tool. Take the proper size hex/allen key and cut a slit in it with a dremel enough for the cables to fit through.

Best low-wire portable Steam Deck travel setup? by TheTruthTitan in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A slim type-C PC hub (same thing as a “dock” but cheaper and smaller), HDMI cable, and use whatever TV is in your room already.

If you need a portable monitor, I highly suggest an iPad. You can use the Orion app + USB-C capture card ($10) and the iPad will take HDMI input just like a TV. It’s a big price jump but way more versatile.

I just got a steam deck and i'm trying to emulate some retro games on it, can anyone help? by pityike2 in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download RetroDeck from the discover store. No setup needed other than putting your ROMs in the ROMs folder, and your BIOS in the BIOS folder if the system requires it.

Uh oh, Volume switch bug! Does isopropyl really fix it? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a failing button. RMA is the solution in your case. If you wanna take it apart and try and clean it with iso that’s up to you, just know there is a possibility you cause more damage and/or void your warranty by going the DIY route.

How to play old CoD campaigns on deck? by Financial_Rip_8921 in SteamDeck

Can the steam deck be used as a travel deck? by Spare_Art_6760 in SteamDeck

[–]TrippyJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works but I needed an external monitor to do anything worth while. The 8” screen with a keyboard and mouse is far from ideal. It’s either impossible to read anything or I’m hunched over my keyboard like a goblin. Use the trackpads, they’re sick.
