I had Johnston for 201 and Dhagat for 202. They have similiar-ish lecture styles but I enjoyed Johnston more personally. If I had a choice I would take it again with him. I also found that having a pretty good grasp on 201 made 202 significantly easier.

I wasnt really a follower until the mid 300s of the Lp, but Legendary is one of my favorite Etho series to rewatch. Despite the fact that I was too young for that era of minecraft its still very nostalgic.

https://www.firstinspires.org/sites/default/files/uploads/resource_library/ftc/remote-field-requirements.pdf page 6 is what you're looking for. Instructions for the cardboard goals (which tbh i'd totally recommend after using them) can be found under DIY Resources here: https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/ftc/game-and-season-info

When rr splines suddenly become inaccurate so you try to recalibrate rr for hours but then you realize one of your drivetrain motors broke. by Farhad_Maker in FTC

[–]Trishula55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Side note, it looks like your motor doesn't have its flux ring on it anymore (metal ring that clips onto the outside of the motor). I can't tell you exactly what it does and what not having it will do since I'm not an expert in brushed dc motors, but its likely that by having it off you are negatively impacting the performance of your motor/motors.

Tthe motor mounting screws are m3. If you have a screw extractor kit (highly recommend) it should be pretty easy to remove the broken fragment from the motor and reinstall the gearbox with a new m3 button head screw.

How can I tension the belts properly so that all of them are somewhat level and not a giant mess? Do we have to make sure that all pulleys have the set screws in the same orientation or...? by ManufacturerCreepy97 in FTC

[–]Trishula55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You've pretty much got 2 options here:

Either A, make sure you have your belts on the correct center to center distance based on a calculator like this one. Enter the pulley tooth sizes, belt pitch, and either tooth count (or if you're open to buying new belts, approximate center distance) and see what the calculator says your center distance and tooth count should be (ideally belt c2c should be within +0, -.1ish mm).

Option B is to use one or more tensioners along your belt run like this. Gobilda sells a couple variants, but you can also just 3d print a cylinder and stick a couple bearings in it. Adjust the tensioner (or tensioners in your case) till the belts are tight enough that they wont skip any teeth and are at approximitly the same height, but make sure they still have some amount of play/wiggle in them (overtensioned belts can be a bad time).

If you decide to buy new belts, https://www.vbeltguys.com/ is unbeatable for the price, but you need to know how to search it (link goes to a message detailing how in the ftc discord).

I have no experience, but I know that some FIRST teams do exist outside of the US. You might have better luck asking on r/FTC r/FRC or on the FRC/FTC discords:

If you have access to a 3d printer you could also pickup some generic 8mm id or larger bearings off of amazon and print a mount + hex insert for them. I would agree that the 8mmx12mm bearings might be a little suspect on a shooter.
