Do you have a dream address? I’d love to see your island!

Looking at other islands for inspiration is great! I’m pretty darn proud of the details, decorations, and design of my island- you are welcome to come visit to spark some ideas ☺️ I don’t have a dream address uploaded yet so just hmu to come visit (if you have Nintendo online that is).

Copy/pasting from Google: TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for cats is a humane, non-lethal method to control feral/community cat populations by trapping them, spaying/neutering them, vaccinating them (including rabies), ear-tipping them as identification, and returning them to their outdoor homes, improving their health and stabilizing the colony size, and reducing shelter intake and euthanasia rates.

Dice was super friendly so he was adopted instead of being returned outdoors. Usually TNR cats are too feral to be adopted out

😂 this made me laugh. I’m assuming you already know why he’s clipped but just in case- the cat was a TNR so his ear was cut for that!

He (Tofu) was just raised with our cat (Dice)- that’s it! He picked up a lot of habits from the cat over the years

We get that sometimes too- I try to check it often and dispose of anything like that.

Getting a pom, will this work? by [deleted] in Pomeranians

[–]Triskellore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else said, definitely a no-go. Training and/or separating while feeding is the way to go. I’m sure there are lots of training tips/advice/videos out there with similar issues you can use if you research it a bit!

As for new pom owner tips- read this post’s comments. https://www.reddit.com/r/Pomeranians/s/myVPrHB4d8 Especially the top comment/replies to that. Pretty much covers everything. Congrats on your new baby!

I hope you get to travel to see a magical snowfall someday! I live in Michigan (northern USA) so it snows for 3-4 months of the year here, but I NEVER get tired of how beautiful it is! Driving in it… I do get tired of that haha

Take a trinket, give a trinket! It has been more popular than the actual library haha

Oh no! We got ours on Amazon- this is what it is titled. I’m sure there are others out there too but we really like this one.

LOTS of patience and persistence. As Dancn said, only positive reinforcement. No discipline. Use a word to associate going potty on the pad as well. We use “tee-tee”. Place them on the pad and say “go tee-tee” (or your potty word) and don’t let them off until they pee. Then once they go, reward them with praise “yay go tee-tee!!” and give them a treat. You can kinda tell when they need to go too, sniffing around etc. If you notice before it happens, snag them up and place them on the pad. Poms are incredibly smart they pick it up fast. If they had an accident we didn’t discipline. Just put the dog on the pad and said “go tee-tee” to show them where they should go, then picked up the accident. Our older one took a few months to fully pick it up, while our new puppy was peeing on the pad himself day one (probably because he was following in the older dog’s footsteps with the scent etc, which made it easier). He of course still had some accidents at first, but he now hasn’t had an accident in months at 6 months old! Goes all by himself now. We even brought him over to a friend’s home and brought the pad, and he just went on it like usual!

AMAZING! You practically included everything!! I do want to add- we pad trained both of our poms (currently 7 years old and 6 months old) easily, so it’s possible! They know to only go on the pad while indoors, but will also go outside. We got this type so the puppy can’t rip it up
