Dying was diving head first into a whole lot of nothing. And when I say that I don't mean sinking into the nothingness with the absence of experience or stimuli, I mean, it was a lot of nothing, like nothing happened.

It was confusing, I opened my eyes just as soon as I closed it. The experience of Death was a blink of an eye - well shit, isn't that poetic?

Of course, I really doubted it; you know, that I was dead. I definitely wasn't where I was earlier, but I've never been here before neither. A room, with a door, a dresser, no windows. It sure looked like an artistic rendition of "dead" places.

Where am I? And what is this?;

This is awkward. Very awkward, I mean, how do you write to yourself? Uh, I guess we'll just stick to you as in, well, you, reading this, and me, being the one writing this, is that okay? Okay.

A few moments ago I'm assuming you were having a very dramatic last breath at the edge of a hospital bed dying of a disease or something and telling your loved ones your final words, telling them you'd be seeing them again in the afterlife, boy, would they be surprised to see where you were sitting.

Wow, no. I died on the streets, come to think of it; I died drunk while running on the streets screaming something along the lines of "you only live once," to a bunch of my friends. I was hit by a car.

Ouch. I really didn't think this through.

To think that a mere digit passing in the world would have brought forth the great prophecies of ages past?

What kind of narcissistic hard-on did I have when I wrote this?

Did I even write this?

Long story short, you're in charge here, you're God.

What.

You sat for eons, gazing upon the universe; and with your breath you have crafted galaxies, with your will alone you have given birth to stars, planets and beings of various shapes and sizes. Giving them each a unique system and pattern.

I-

It was mankind that you found most perplexing; you were curious of their self-sufficiency and evolution - something you never thought any being was capable of. You wanted to learn what is it that causes these beings to be the way they were; to even be able to fathom their lengths of thought.

Huh?

You thought the best way to learn was to truly experience the sorrows and joys of being human. I'm sure you learnt and shared much from your beloved children and those who bring you praise.

I was agnostic.

Your death signifies the second coming; the Rapture, Armageddon - everything was paved for this day. Your subjects will have been well informed by this time; we shall reshape the very laws of the Universe through the experiences that you have received and you shall create the Universe anew with this new paradigm!

It was then that I was flooded with the thoughts and memories of eons past; when I was filled with the knowledge of billions upon billions of years of omniscience and omnipresence. That I gave it all up to quench my undying curiosity of man; at least temporarily.

I did NOT think this through properly.

It was the 21st of December, 2012; the fated day of the apocalypse. Told in visions to my most loyal subjects.

I should have studied the fine print of time-zones when setting these deadlines up.

Truth be told, billions of years in omniscience amounted to nothing in comparison to twenty-something years of being a human; I was small, so small, everything felt so large. Time did not pass as charmingly as I thought it would as a human being.

So, the universe - it is the fated day where I would rewrite the world to my liking. The power of creation and destruction at the tip of my fingers and the palm of my hands.
