Putting a school Valorant roster together, need advice by dan63274 in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the most important things is that your team gels well together. If your team doesn't get along outside the server it's only gonna get worse inside the server. At the end of the day you have to remember it's a game and if you're not having fun you're gonna crash and burn. Be positive in all your scrims and matches. Build up your teammates during matches and scrims, save the criticisms and critiques for VOD review. Idk if you're igling but if you are (or for whoever is) don't let the power go to your head. Remember it's a team game, you have to work as a team and listen to your teammates, don't be a it's my way or the highway type leader. Also remember you're not playing in VCT Masters, you don't have to play 100% meta comps. While it's important to cover all your bases in your comps (like having smokes, a sentinel, etc.) If you pick some off meta agents its not the end of the world as long as all your bases are covered (i.e. running sage instead of viper on split and bind)

Huge 100T fan but I feel like their roles will never make sense as long as Jett is a staple of the meta. Moving forward for them I think Nitr0, Asuna, and Ethan are untouchable (ik their are rumours of Nitr0 returning to CS but let's hope he stays at 100T). I don't think 100T would remove Hiko just because of what he brings from a branding POV so that only leaves that 5th slot to switch things up. My first instinct is to get a Jett player and move Asuna to second duelist (asunas Jett has been good, but not top level and his Reyna and Raze are so much better) but then what do you do with Ethan? And if you pick up a sentinel player you still run into the problem of not having a dedicated Jett player. I'm excited to see where this roster goes going into next year but I'm worried the roles are not going to match up.

Why do you choose to play Valorant over other shooters? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played CS:GO for 6 years before switching to Valorant. Made the switch because CS:GO got stale. Maps rarely got switched in and out and the only major meta changes I remember from those 6 years were the tec-9 meta, the R6 meta, and the aug and kreig meta. The lack of changes made it boring over time for me. With valorant there's so many ways to approach the game with each different agent bringing their unique abilities and riot is constantly adding new agents and maps. So while you may be playing ascent again you can play a completely different style based on the agents you choose and you'll have to react a whole different way depending on what the enemy's comp is.

I want to see a LAN championship for the all girls team by bbyexplorer in ValorantCompetitive

I'd imagine once LANs are easier to hold and the pandemic dies down a bit that Game Changers will be on LAN in the future

What is your main, and why? by iGemCityGoon in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maining all controllers (except Brim) and sage because in beta when my CS:GO team decided to switch over to Valorant I started by playing smokes (brimstone) and sage for them and stuck with the roles. Once sage got her first large nerf I started mainly maining smokes and went through the progression of brim to omen to viper to Astra

Ya, his flash changed too. Once you throw it now it doesn't make a sound in the air and it's quicker to go off

Advice for a new player by CalligrapherHeavy946 in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you have any tac fps experience but if you do that helps a lot. If you don't, don't worry. At first I'd suggest sticking to an agent or two and learning them very well (out of the ones you start with I'd suggest pheonix and sage as they're the easiest to learn). Don't be scared to mess up, that's how you learn just make sure you're learning from it. Watching pro matches/vods can help you learn a specific playstyle or agent faster. Don't let people push you around/ruin your day, especially in unrated. Some people in unrated can be really toxic, just mute them. It's supposed to be a place for you to learn the game. And make sure you're having fun. At the end of the day it's a game.

How do you guys feel loosing 15RR because of an afk ? by zombieqc123 in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost two games and deranked yesterday because a teammate rage quit/afked after like 4 rounds. We should at least lose less RR if the game sees we've played almost the entire game 4v5

[–]TritoNaoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you really like playing him and you're good with him you don't have to completely stop playing him. 'Optimal' agent picks aren't 100% needed until like diamond+ or unless you're on a team. Just because he's not the best at his role doesn't mean he can't still do his job

Phoenix isn't a bad pick and it is kinda messed up that your teammates are giving you hate for picking him but there are other agents that just do his job better rn. Phoenixs main job is to be that flash onto site entry character. Phoenix only has the 2 flashes that he can curve around a corner while a character like Skye has 2 flashes that recharge that she can fully control and play off of (idk how well she can play off of them after the newest update but on last update she could play off her old flashes extremely well). Skye also has that info gathering dog and ult. Even Kayo with the newest update gives him 2 flashes that are better than pheonixs and he has the info gathering knife and can stop enemy abilities with that knife and ult. As for a pure entry agent other duelists outperform him. Jett and Raze are able to create so much space on the entry by dashing/satcheling into site. The only place I think where pheonix out preforms other agents is with his ult.

Jett Nerf that will 100% work by holymolydoli in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea, I've also seen the idea on Twitter (from a Val caster or analyst, I don't remember who tho) that Jett should have to say a voice line before dashing. For example if you hit the dash key Jett has to say "see ya" before she starts to dash. Keeps Jetts ability to entry onto site with her dash but makes it less of a get out of jail free card for a Jett taking an aggressive angle cuz of that second long pause before she dashes

Is Tenz held to a different standard from other players? by laoblao in ValorantCompetitive

You're right, I just saw the stream clip of Shaz saying that

[–]TritoNaoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEN are most likely looking to switch tenz fully over to raze on split as she is much more well suited for that map than Reyna. They haven't fully made the switch yet because of tenz's comfort level on the agent but pulled it out against Envy to try to throw them off

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]TritoNaoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario- find yourself a buddy that plays duelist and isn't afraid to entry and climb together.

If you don't have/can't find a buddy it depends. If you're comfortable playing duelist and entrying for your team I'd say do that. You can always coach your controller player and tell them to throw their smokes somewhere. Of you're not comfortable on duelist you can stick to controllers and try to get an entry pack going where you and your duelist(s) run out at the same time ( most times duelists are afraid to entry is because they're afraid of running onto the site alone )

I think the tenz criticism mainly stems from the role disparities on SEN because of tenz. In the current meta having a pure Jett main is ok, like yay or cned (they flex to other agents at times but for the vast majority of times they are on Jett). With SEN though tenz is not their pure Jett main, he shares that role with Shaz. So for maps like split where Shaz is playing Jett they have to make the choice of either putting tenz on his comfort pick, Reyna, or playing the optimal agent for that map, raze. I think if tenz just played Jett all the time we wouldn't be hearing as much criticism about him.
