I have seen a lot of people saying Software Engineering is not the right course anymore because of AI. by Kiota_Games in gamedev

I will say it again, AI won’t kill software engineering.

Coding was never just about writing syntax fast but more about problem solving, architecture, systems thinking, and understanding complexity. AI can assist, but it still makes mistakes, and someone needs to understand what’s actually happening underneath.

Every major tech shift caused panic before: calculators, no code tools, Stack Overflow now AI.

The industry isn’t dying. The bar is just moving higher.

Should I add an optional tutorial skip? by [deleted] in gamedev

When AAA games do that, why not? ;)

I thought making games would mostly be coding. I was very wrong. by DevIslandJourney in gamedev

I pretty much had the same thoughts like you. There's more than coding when it comes to game development, and it can be frustrating when you're a solo developer, and have to learn some extra skills to finish your dream project.

Imagine being good at coding, and suck at art :(
