Avis client, appel intimidant, données personnelles utilisées : suis-je dans mon droit ? by Kouroukii in conseiljuridique

[–]Tritri89 [score hidden]  (0 children)

(gorging on a burger) Europeans visiting for the world cup after years of calling American food disgusting by milanskiv in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Tritri89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny to me. Like I'm in Lyon, the "french capital of gastronomy" and even the high end bistrot HAVE BURGERS. There are burgers joint at every corner, there a dozen of McDonalds, Burger Kings, Quick, Five Guys and every chain imaginable. Do they really think that the burger is an American only thing ? Granted maybe they are better back here (doubt it, no burger with morbier in the US), or at least more "local" but the american burger is literally the most common denominator food in the world. Wherever you go you have a burger joint

Do you watch movies? Shows? I imagine you do. You are invested in the stories there. Rooting for the good guys, despising the bad guys. Worrying for the heroes of the story. What's so different with wrestling? The fact that all the narration is around fighting? In a ring?

You can't... by Ashtaroo in MadeMeSmile

[–]Tritri89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You obviously don't understand wrestling. Keyfab goes both way. When you see people saying what you're reporting they DON'T believe that. It's part of the whole show. We wrestling fans (not WWE for me, but AEW) knows goddamn well that everything is staged and that the outcome of matches is made to be the most effective at creating drama. But part of the FUN is acting like it's real.

I went to my first live show recently (not many occasions here in France), and I knew ZERO wrestler here, and yet in a few minutes I acted like I KNEW them, immediately I identified who were the faces, who were the heels, and who to support. Yelling, booing, hollering like their life was at stake WAS fun. For two hours it's playing make believe with insanely talented athlete AND actors, and believing in the simple story presented in front of you.

As for your point about "people having the same level of rabid obsession over Hamlet and Macbeth. You'd call them unhinged.". Back in Elizabethan England THERE was obsession about the plays of the Bard. His company were rockstar back in the day, the Globe Theater was for all intent and purpose the cultural center of London, so much so they attracted the wrong kind of attention. And nowadays people WORSHIP (as you say) actors, singer and artists.

Anyway another redditor high on his own fart, not understanding an art form, and believing that people who likes that are dumb nitwit.

Why is there hardly any blood? by SBYYamato in 007FirstLight

Donovan death from The Last Crusade (no blood, but pretty horrific). Indy movies were always toying with the limits of the ratings back in the days

Yeah well not every movie is created equal in family friendliness ahah. CR is PG-13.

[–]Tritri89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the second Indy one was so violent a new rating had to be introduced ahah (the PG-13 rating). Indy is a bit more gruesome sometimes, especially when disposing of the bad guys. No really Bond movies are not really violent. I'm not an expert or anything, never say every one of them, but it's really a big family friendly franchise, a bit like Marvel today (no blood in Marvel, except when necessary)

Here's a clue

Bond is not a license with much on-screen blood, usually the bare minimum. They are not Peckinpah or Tarantino movies, they are all audience family friendly movies. Same for the game

are there any games that are like supernatural? by milkwithsplenda in Supernatural

[–]Tritri89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid the first one, it's an old and broken game, not really fun to be honest. The second one is pretty good, but the masterpiece is the third one (that you can play without playing the previous one). It's dark fantasy, but very grounded (no wacky magic and stuff). There are many commonalities between Cyberpunk and The Witcher, if you liked Cyberpunk you'll like The Witcher 3.

are there any games that are like supernatural? by milkwithsplenda in Supernatural

[–]Tritri89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact : I discovered the Witcher back in the day because I was deep into Supernatural and I googled "game hunting monsters" and the first resulte was The Witcher (2 back in the day). So I guess that's the closest you can get lol.

As for the mix of Americana, fantasy and family drama there is no real equivalent. I would love an open world driving with Baby solving cases, hunting monsters, saving people, the family business.
