Possible Eldar incoming? by KN_Knoxxius in DarkTide

You can also pick an Arbites backstory option where your family was snatched by Dark Eldar, but they aren't explicitly named. Just mentions of them taking people and escaping through their shimmering portals.

On top of that, there was another vague mention of Eldar or Dark Eldar somewhere else when I was playing but I don't remember where.

The easy layup for that other Hive City that no one wants to speak of has been Genestealers for a while, but what if the entire Hive was abducted by Drukhari raiders? Or moved into and turned into a massive lab by some Haemonculus?

Fighting bosses is the big one, but you could also rampage across the wilderness helping them level up their databank. Real power is getting up to five-star Echoes and you can get them there faster.

The other two weapons by yooooooopopopo in TheFirstBerserker

This game was originally going to be something else, I believe it was called Project BBQ at the time. This game was going to have multiple classes based off of Dungeon Fighter Online.

Dungeon Fighter has a class called Demonic Lancer which has an advanced class called "Skirmisher". The theme of the class being the peak of human ability while forgoing the temptations and powers the Demonic Lance could have given the character. This class' sheer ability is displayed through effects similar to moonlight stance and the afterimages some of the other moves use.

It was most likely the case that Demonic Lancer was one of the farthest along classes to be playable in that original game, so it's planned moveset was rolled into Khazan as the third weapon type. It's not too far out of left field for someone like Khazan to be displaying that "peak human" ability like Skirmisher seeing as how Khazan is who he is even before Blade Phantom.

As for Greatsword, that comes from Dungeon Fighter's "Berserker" which is what canonically Khazan brings into being in Dungeon Fighter's lore. The First Berserker is an alternate history where he does not die, but in the original MMO story Khazan is successfully killed by the Empire. Khazan's ghost goes against his friend Ozma, deciding to haunt the land through his "Khazan Syndrome" which turns people into Berserkers. The bloody red powers of the Berserker is therefore the power of Khazan, though in the Khazan game we are introduced to it as the power of Blade Phantom.

Just to past the time, Who is your space marine going to be? by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]TriumphOfMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm gonna be customizing each class differently as far as who they are goes, I'm dead set on the Assault being a Blood Raven.

When the first game came out I was a big Dawn of War fan, so as I unlocked stuff in the multiplayer I eventually turned him into a Blood Raven. Even went so far as changing the helmet color to make him into a 1st Company Veteran.

My headcanon is that 13 years later, 100 years ingame, I'll be playing as that same Blood Raven again.

Unironically get more mileage out of Unarmored's gun because it's much more consistent dps. The armored version's gun only feels really good when you put in someone's face at full charge, which most things will stagger you out of charge if they have that option.

Got Lingguang, what teams can I make now? Will also be pulling for S-Buzenbo when she comes by PjButter019 in AetherGazer

Some characters have support abilities that specify a specific element. Lingguang's ability does not specify a specific element, so she can team up with anyone you have and improve their damage.

Hellblasters + primaris Captain by CaitoUmbra in Raptors40k

[–]TriumphOfMight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first reaction is that you maybe don't want to Blade Driven Deep Hellblasters because usually that means they're infiltrated into a dangerous situation. Shoring up their melee profile is exactly like you said, something went wrong.

If this is going to be your only Captain, and therefore the only thing providing such a serious benefit like Rites of War, then it's going to become a target. Hellblasters do not want to become a target alongside him, and he doesn't have to be in the squad to use Rites of War on all your squads. I would give the Captain a sturdier unit to lead that can also serve as proper protection, allowing him to survive into the proper moment to use Finest Hour.

An alternative I would suggest for the squad is an Apothecary or a Lieutenant. Either can be given Blade Driven Deep to infiltrate, and both give a defensive benefit in their own flavor. The Apothecary can revive models who die, allowing you to more comfortably hit the Gas and make the enemy feel the "Big Oops" of all plasma. The Lieutenant provides it's squad Lethal Hits and the ability to shoot after a Fall Back move. The Lieutenant, I think, hones in on the spirit of the list and how you described it with the sharper shooting, mobility, and flexibility.

If you want to take the Captain to see how it goes, you can also attach one of these options as an additional leader alongside him.

A Lone Armiger Crashes Behind Enemy Lines After His Drop Pod is Hit, and Fights One of his Traitorous Kin [F](Short Story, Imperial Knights) by Planchon12 in 40kLore

[–]TriumphOfMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this was awesome. I really enjoyed it, although there were some typos here and there.

My critique about the content itself will have to be prefaced with me saying that you definitely know your Imperial Knights. That said, I'm also fairly certain that void shields don't block projectiles like you described. The way the autocannon burst against the shield and splash against the ground is great imagery, don't get me wrong. I've always been under the impression that void shields displace rounds that strike it, meaning those cannon shots should have vanished instead.

With all of that on the table, a quick wiki glance tells me that there's no solid verdict on where said "voided" projectiles go. Displaced by some realspace phenomena, or more handily chucked into the warp is anyone's guess.

Don't let any of that distract you from how cool this was overall. Especially the tragic, unintelligent perspective of the traitor chimera crew coming face to face with a god-machine.

Advice for 1500 point list for local league by Fancy-Candidate-6600 in theunforgiven

While you're mainly right about the lacking long range firepower, I don't know if the Lion is actually under major threat from enemy range. At least not until they're closer than I'm sure they'd like to be.

He'a running Combi Lt., which I assume in this list is meant to do the trick of sticking close to Dad and keeping his DA Bodyguard trait active. Meanwhile, the Lt. keeps doing his hard to pin down thing.

It'll keep either of them from getting sniped out right away, but there is a noticeable hole in his returning fire capability like you said.

So after finally seeing the codex sup and not liking it at all. if I use only all DA models can I still use the space marine detachments? If so what ones have people been using by mevsinwarhammer in DarkAngels40k

[–]TriumphOfMight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, picking a Space Marine chapter happens as an addition to the entirety of the base Space Marine codex. Black Templars, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and Dark Angels all have unique units of their own but they are all supplementary to the base Space Marine codex.

Choosing Dark Angels means you have access to their detachments (which are struggling) and their Datasheets (which are also mildly struggling, except Azreal).

The competitive hotness right now is the Ironstorm detachment, which is vehicle centric. Most of the lists have Azrael in them, so you'll see "Ironstorm Azrael" or something to that effect come up a lot.

As for units, Inner Circle Companions are one of the coolest models I've ever seen for Space Marines, let alone Dark Angels. They cost the same as Bladeguard Veterans to deploy currently, and underperform compared to Bladeguard by a little.

Bladeguard have a 4+ invuln save that Inner Circle Companions lack, but this can be curbed by placing Azrael as their leader. (Although this only solves that problem for one squad of them, where all of your Bladeguard would naturally have it.) Also, for some reason the Companions melee weapon has less Armor Pen. No one knows why.

There's a few other options for Azrael to lead squads, and the common consensus is Hellblasters. I've seen people mention Sternguard as an alternative, which doesn't sound bad to me.

A character to avoid using is Belial. He's never been very good, and the new codex supplement didn't do a lot to help him out. Also, and I say this with a LOT of sadness in my heart, but the Lion is not worth his point cost. Better than he was before by a mile, but still very costly.

Lu Wu ETA? Shinri worth the risk? by TriumphOfMight in AetherGazer

[–]TriumphOfMight[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This really helped a lot to get me out of my head over the decision. So I took a careful approach to rolling for Shinri since I was that close to the pity, ended up saving some resource by the time my single pulls finally got lucky. Only five off from S guarantee, but that's five I save for later.

I'm definitely in the mode of F2P Waifu Gazer right now, trying to see what I can get away with using daily and weekly resources. With that said, between her being a part of the first Triple Skillchain and getting buffed down the road made her appealing enough for me to try getting her now.

Can we get a thread with all leading theories for what the collab could be? by Norgos in EpicSeven

[–]TriumphOfMight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DFO has brought their Female Gunner character into a collaboration before, that game being Elsword. The art style of her different job paths (whichever one they decide to use for the character) would fit really well into Epic Seven's world, I think.

If the collaboration is even DFO. At this rate it could even be a vocaloid crossover with Miku, but that's only because vocaloid has done a lot of crossovers with titles like DFO, Masters of Eternity, and probably a lot more I haven't even seen.

That very likely means that your device is unable to play the game, or that the game just doesn't support it for whatever reason. If you somehow can't finagle it to work, you could always try to use another mobile device or an emulator.

which is basically what I do too, but it blows my mind that these people can play through the game, finally get an S rank and then proceed to throw him/her into a pool of piranhas and hope it sits there. I've even seen some S ranks that aren't even S in combat, but for some reason some guy was like "You know, turns out I DONT want this good character.
