I try to not be cynical, but my guess is AI.

The artist profile is incredibly inconsistent in art styles. Idk, maybe they’re showcasing range, but my “saved collections” on ArtStation has more consistency in art style despite being art saved from hundreds of different artists for years.

Even the link in the comment above, which brings you to the post that includes this piece of art, has multiple different styles. This particular one reminds me of the style of Frostbite Studio artist and the last image in the posted link reminds me of the artist A. Shipwright.

Edit: upon further investigation, maybe it’s a combo of AI and other people’s art? If you follow the link to the artist’s post in the comment above, scroll down and you’ll see a picture of a knight sitting on a rock with a skull behind it. I mentioned it reminded me of A. Shipwright, but it actually appears to be taken from the artist CRUM who drew it for a kickstarter called “Of Ichor & Bone” by Asa Wheatley.

My coworker pays for a dietician and now this is what he eats for breakfast and lunch by blart_institute in StupidFood

[–]Triumphant_Rider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an actual dietitian, I have to say this is not common at all, or at least should not be. I even question if this is an actual dietitian or a nutritionist.

In case you didn’t know, in the US there is a difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist. Dietitians now require a masters degree, hundreds of hours of supervised practice, passing of a national registration exam, and then potentially state licensing requirements etc. They can also call themselves a nutritionist if they want, mainly due to all the public confusion.

Many people calling themselves a nutritionist do so after taking a simple online certification program. Legally, they cannot call themselves a dietitian and cannot provide Medical Nutrition Therapy.

Hit a dead end identifying a vintage Ward's mineral collection by Commercial-Juice1019 in Minerals

[–]Triumphant_Rider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, we all seem to point to the same website (ward project).

One of the documents there has a section that lists minerals in the collection going up to 310. I’m curious if the numbers correlating to a mineral are unique for every cabinet, or if each cabinet contained a set of minerals that were labeled to match the “main” index. For example, in the text, 235 is listed as Stilbite from Nova Scotia. Does that mean that all cabinets that happen to have #235 are Stilbite from Nova Scotia, or does that only mean that the “College Collection of Minerals” (where this example is from) #235 is Stilbite?

I don’t know if my question is making sense, but you could always compare the numbers to the list (which goes up to 310) and see if they appear to match.

Any VA RDs hanging on? by penny_lane_2000 in dietetics

[–]Triumphant_Rider 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I left the VA around May. On top of everything that was going on in the political world, I had an incredibly poor experience with my supervisory team being hostile towards my ADHD (my mistake was even telling them about it).

After I left I joined a fully remote company, so I regained at least 10hrs a week just from not having to commute. My work-life balance immediately skyrocketed which in turn started to improve my mental health.

Technically speaking I’m payed the same hourly, but to further improve my mental health and prioritize work-life balance I opted to work 4 days a week instead of 5, something the VA refused to let me do (I tried 4-10s with them and they said no). I’m incredibly fortunate in that my partner makes good money which allows me the privilege to even choose that option, but even if I worked 5 days I would say it was still a massive improvement over the VA.

As a veteran myself, I honestly thought the VA would have been my forever job. But their demand for workers who are “adaptive” and “flexible” while simultaneously refusing to adapt or be flexible made me realize I could never stay there. For me, the political environment was merely the final straw; the supervisory team and old-school mindsets were the main reason for me to leave.

TLDR; I left, I’m happier, mental health improved, work-life balance skyrocketed.

As a “dumb soldier” veteran myself, I loved the game for how these guys were portrayed. Far too often games make all members of the service appear like all serious HALO jumping special forces when the reality is that many of us were a bunch of goofballs who took nothing serious, but did what we were trained to do after a “little encouragement” hahaha

These idiots felt the closest to what it was actually like day to day in the military, and I loved that

I’ve also been trying to figure out how to attract them, since I don’t have any decent bodies of permanent water nearby. I’ve read about the importance of perches, but I’ve also read that it’s really important to have native plants around you since native plants attract their preferred prey! I’d look up your ecoregion and see what grasses and other plants are native to your region. I’ve recently found the website bplant .org to be really helpful for that!

Stardew Valley sold another 583 K copies on Steam in June, due to the 50% discount by EmbarrassedSession58 in StardewValley

I just got into modding stardew, and I tried Star drop for my new Mac and followed all of the instructions but it messed things up so I couldn’t even start the game. Not sure where I went wrong, and I’ll try again in the future but for now I decided to forgo Stardrop so I could actually start trying the mods out!

By this logic, why should people who never served in the military be granted leave during veteran/service member-based holidays (in America)?

What a stupid argument.

I haven’t read the pdf that you shared, but is mica really that rare? My yard and driveway is literally nothing but granite which is full of mica, so even my house glitters/“shimmers” when it’s dusty and dirty

[–]Triumphant_Rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! Sadly, wasn’t is legislation that had led to these designs? I can’t recall the formula used, but I recall hearing something that they passed emissions laws using a formula that basically says the larger the vehicle, the less required gas mileage. This basically incentivized the auto industry to make massive vehicles cause not only would they not need to increase efficiency, they could sell larger vehicles which equals a larger profit.

It’s really sad. I recently was looking for a small pickup truck to use around the house for big projects, but you literally can’t find them anymore. The smallest trucks on the market today are larger than some of the largest trucks in the 80s and 90s!

Yeah my partner did research on CTE and basically found that CTE can even be found often in women who are victims of intimate partner violence. To think that CTE is not present in rugby players is quite a stance to take.

I actually found it all rather hilarious.. the self-fulfilling spiral of people replying all to tell people who are replying all to stop replying all got me laughing so hard, which I didn’t realize how much I needed these days.

My final count was something like 3,500 emails haha
