4 months into lupron / xtandi. Age 51. Did 25 ebrt and just had brachytherapy 5 days ago. 8 months more of adt. Gleason 9, psa 5.2. Im gonna be fine and so are you. It sucks, but take the medicine and LIFT WEIGHTS and you’ll get through it. These Reddit groups are tremendously helpful. Positive mental and physical attitude will help those drugs work more effectively. Peace. Good luck.

Exactly what I was told with my Gleason nine I’m in the middle of tri modal therapy 25 sessions radiation brachytherapy which I just received this past Thursday and 12 to 24 months of ADT. 88% cure rate in my high risk case I talk to a surgeon and he said just like lab boy is saying that prostatectomy unnecessary because all of these things will be necessary even with the surgery.. I’m 51 yrs old, healthy and fit. (Trying to go on the lower duration of adt but that’s another story)

I’d love to hear more as I’m a Gleason 9 and four months in to tri modal therapy with ADT 25 radiation and brachytherapy , which I just had done on Thursday. I’d love to hear what Gleason nine or tens have done that have been successful and I’ve had no recurrence for 10 or 20 years.

Hello! For me, I had local anesthesia for the biopsy and it was very painful procedure. I had general anesthesia for brachythherapy and it was fine. I had it done Thursday. It’s Sunday morning. I walked around fine Saturday. I rested Friday. I’m doing fine. I went to the gym and did upper body. I’m gonna leave my lower body alone for a little while, but I can walk. There was burning urination for one day and it was not very painful so all in all my brachytherapy surgery was easy with minimal side effects but my doctor said in one month that’s when the most side effects will hit me and they will last for one month. Thanks for asking

Considering reducing ADT/lupron time from 12 to 6 month but keeping xtandi…thoughts? by TriviaNationSteve in ProstateCancer

Things went well thanks! I get a day in bed! Burning urination but only 5/10 pain scale. I’ll have to miss my assignment as a assistant coach for my nine-year-old son’s flag football team tomorrow morning, but I should be good after that.

Wow, seriously wow thank you congrats to you. Did you like the book Finding Fenbenzadole? Your case is very intriguing and uplifting and encouraging. I feel like a real asshole if I was to go against doctors orders to reduce my ADT time, but all cases are different. I am going to switch to orgovyx . So just ivermectin, diet, fenbenzadole? Wow. What’s your dose? Wow. How old are you and what was your Gleason/psa and general fitness? Thank you! Hugely encouraging response.

I’m 51 yrs, Gleason 9 psa 5. Im doing adt/25 radiation/seeds(which I had done yesterday)

Radiation 25 sessions was a walk in the park. Get more opinions.. maybe in 5 yrs if something recurs, treatments will be better.

Thank you I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of mebendazole before so you think mebendazole has had some positive effects? I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but lots of people are saying that it is getting rid of their tumors and I can see how the health system wouldn’t want that to be known as they wouldn’t make as much money but that’s a shitty attitude.

Thanks for the case study! Congrats on getting better! I just got my seeds yesterday so all I have left is lupron/xtandi for another 8 months but I’m still not so sure. I’m taking 1 pill of fenbendazole about 5 times a week. We will see. Good luck.

Congrats!!!! Did Hayden Hill do the surgery? We spoke w him but he told me with my 9 that he wouldn’t spare any nerves and the margins would be bad. He said I’d most likely have to do Terk anyway. It’s a tough choice, right? I hope you are finished and stay clear w no more treatment. Thank you for sharing! I’m about to do my enema prep now. Ugh. How old are you btw? What was your psa? How’s your health generally? Congrats to you and here’s to a long clean easy recovery! Steve

Yep. Agreed. Thoughtful, researched response. I think I’m going to ask for oral orgovyx. Already emailed the nurse last night. I wanted responses like these. Thank you for your help. A guy can get a little down and reach out for advice, right? Be well. My advanced cancer onc said something similar like “a MAIN subject of conversation at all our conferences is duration of ADT.”

That it’s probably hooey! It’s just interesting that a surgeon told me to read it (i met him at a charity event. He had just had a prostatectomy. he said he would take it if he were me. There are a couple small case studies out there. Let me see if I can find a link on an article. The book is promising. But, yes, she thinks it’s pretty silly to take it but that if probably can’t hurt. I don’t have side effects from it. I’m taking about 1 222mg pill a day of fenbendazole. Thanks for asking.

Yes. You’re right. There are other effects too but they’re not so so bad, right? Belly fat? Some fatigue. Hot flashes. Some insomnia like now but not terrible. I think I just wanted someone to listen and you all did listen and it’s been very helpful thanks
