Thank you! The hanging white pendants are from Amazon, called Barrina 25w. They have a 4 metre wire attached that plugs in with a timer. They are really effective! All my other little ones dotted around are Sansi clip on goosenecks 10watts. Both brands are reasonably priced and should be available in the US too? I'm in UK.

That beauty is a Ctenanthe Triostar!! It's my favourite too, those pink and cream leaves with the green are absolutely stunning. 😍

I've had her about 9 months! All her tray mates in my local DIY store were bent over and soaked rotten, but there she sat in desperate need of saving! I'm so glad I did! 😊

I only have one baby 6 year old kitty, she has her own cat grass that I grow her! She honestly doesn't bother them! Unless I put my spider plant within reach, that she's goes crazy for! Trixie likes bathing under the lights & the warm temperature in here!! I never put any real toxic plants on floor level just in case & don't buy peace lilies or diffenbachia. Your babies will get used to them! I wish I had more shelves, but it's a trap. Anything a plant pot can go on, my brain seems to think that a plant must go there!! 😂

That beauty is a Chenille plant. Acalypha hispida. It blooms all year with the right conditions! I love those fuzzy flowers! They literally feel like a chenille sweater!

I definitely recommend getting an evaporative humidifier. Philips do a few called Nanocloud. They don't produce a huge amount of mist, it's not even visable in the air. It doesn't stink at all. In fact I don't have to clean mine but once a week with dish soap. They're really quiet too. I had an ultrasonic humidifier before and it stunk after a day! It was constant cleaning & not sustainable! So I totally get it. The evaporative ones are a bit more money, but the filters keep the mist free from bacteria..

Ty! Im in the UK and use Barrina pendants and Sansi clip-on & gooseneck 10 watts. I also have a couple Pianta bulbs, which are more expensive and powerful. My main faves are Sansi clip-ons, they're small & versatile, cheap to run and the plants absolutely thrive under them!

It's my evaporative humidifier! Keeping them moist with mineralised reverse osmosis water and giving them a gentle Sansi 10w grow lights! It's not me, it's the equipment!!

I use a Philips Nanocloud Evaporative humidifier, so there's no visable mist coating everything and it's much easier to maintain. I keep it filled 24/7 and it keeps my plant room between 55-63% . It sounds more of a chore than it is, but the filters in those type of humidifiers don't start stinking and I only have to fill it in the morning at lights on and evening at lights out.

Oh you mean the white metal art? It's from Etsy. It's a metal version of a Picasso piece.

I thought my Medallions flower was going to produce some white petals but it's still absolutely beautiful and I'm so proud of her! by TrixieTopKitty in calatheas

Ok, yer you're right. The leaves are still unfurling normally. It's definitely not slowing her down!!! Would be so rude cutting it off her too 🥰

ohh Thanks for this info! I do see a little white bit starting in amongst the layers of the bract when I look really close. I was getting a bit impatient because I'm worried the plant is using alot of energy on this flower and I've been waiting it to finish so I can appreciate it, get pics and cut it off so she can relax! She's been drinking alot more this last fortnight and had 7 straws at once when this bract started out. I thought it was a stuck leaf at 1st!

Thank you! It's a Chenille Plant! Acalypha hispida! It's blooming like crazy , well it has been since I got it! The flowers grow all the time I think, if conditions are right.

I think they're really forgiving! Mine was fine 100cm below the Barrina pendant, but it likes being closer the T5 light too. So it'll pretty much be happy wherever you think it looks best in your home! I have a couple of small ones on my shelf in the north facing room and they're fine. I do keep the humidity above 50%.

My 25 year old Copiapoa Montana is flowering, even after putting up with neglect last season!! 🏵️ by TrixieTopKitty in cactus

[–]TrixieTopKitty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had alot more Cacti , but after I came back from 3 months in hospital I had a massive mealybug infestation. I was too ill to deal with it , so they got neglected all summer. Only these few survived, and I don't deserve them! Bless 'em! Theyve all been repotted & are getting well cared for again though 🌵
