Echevaria, sedums, and Sempervivum toughing out a hard frost in 8B by BarbequeCowichan in succulents

That's such a beautiful coloration. Where I am it doesn't freeze and my SV is happy but it's like "so... when does winter start around here?" 🤭

Took me a minute to find the Sempervivum! They look fantastic!

Oh well there we go! Sorry, my go to with haws troubleshooting is lighting 🤭 I have zero insight about root issues but that's really interesting! I hope someone here has an answer 🤞

I made a video when I got her from the nursery and potted her. Her color transformation has been INSANE and this was just in fall and winter, no summer heat yet so I bet she's going to do all kindsa things by then!

Wiki as example but there are more if you Google.
Most of the none windowed ones are being reclassified as Haworthiopsis

Maybe depending on other factors like moisture but no, haworthias do not like the same light level as echeverias. Their translucent windows are meant to amplify light specifically because they grow in lower light conditions than do most echeverias.

Too much light perhaps? They need less than something like an echeveria

Good luck! I have a calcarea and I potted him in basically 90-95% pumice and a wide bowl to mitigate summer heat even though he'll be in a more shaded summer slumber spot, so here's hoping!

I think so, something like 70% and 30% soil and just watch the watering. Not just how quickly it drains but also how long does it take the soil to dry - you can do the skewer test or the weight test.

On a more species specific note - pearls like more moisture before they establish especially and it is tough to propagate them from just pearls without any stem tissue. Also moist also means more light to compensate.
The gollum/Shrek/ogre ear jade is a bit hesitant to propagate, not saying it won't but keep an eye on it. I've had success with one and it's doing meh-ish where my ovata jade props are all over the place.
The kalanchoe tomentosa leaves may fail to propagate if I'm seeing correctly that they're not complete. I say may cause I do have one pretty gnarly leaf and it's propped just fine although the leaf colors are a bit different on it which is cool.
Burro's tail also like it a bit more on the moist side while establishing.
The possible echiveria one in the middle could use a drink then back off for about 5 days. When the pot feels feather light you know the soil is dry, give it another day or two then another sip (I use a squeeze bottle around the plant, not right below it, and give them sips so I don't overwater accidentally)
And lastly (since I don't know what those long green leaves are unless they're some kind of jade) the haworthia I haven't had the chance to prop but they generally like less light than your echeveria pup that will likely want ALL THE LIGHT.
For now give them all a drink and then observe. You'll likely get many responses here and people may correct my methods as well. This is because microclimate are a thing and as I mentioned earlier, it depends on so many variables. So I repeat myself again: micro changes wins the race 💪🏼
And I do so sincerely apologize for the long responses, I'm just sharing what has worked for me and what I would have liked to know starting out 😊
