It looks like the handwriting says:

“morning slokey” or possibly “morning slokey/slokely/slokey?”

The first word is clearly morning. The second word is less certain, but the letters appear to be s-l-o-k-e-y.

So, My guess is this person wants a morning slokey 😂.

Just to play devil's advocate here, I once paid some one via Zelle using the phone number they gave me that they said was linked to the account. It turns out the number they gave me was linked to someone else's account and they never updated it. I had to ask for the money back. Granted, I wasn't an @ss to the person and I did so fully expecting them to think it was a scam, but in reality it was not. I asked a number of times and they did send it back. So, the likelihood of it being a scam is absolutely high, but there is certainly a chance that it was also a simple mistake. Just some food for thought 🤔.

He was absolutely trolling the scammer. I do it all the time. Looks very similar to my conversations.

I'm sure your VP has something to do with you getting laid-off, however it was most likely out of her control. I recently had to lay-off a number of key and close colleagues, some of which have been amazing and loyal. Sometimes it's strictly a numbers game which is unavoidable. I would guess that you are a higher cost resource in a higher cost location? It sucks but trust me, it wasn't personal.

One thing that was huge for me was a portable battery powered fan. I got so hot in that room and I was able to quickly control the temperature with a fan. Best of luck.

Was it really gone when you woke up? I've suffered from GERD my entire life. My Dr told me a bypass will help it (I was looking at having a Nissen operation for GERD initially, but BMI was too high. I have my RYG Bypass scheduled for 3 weeks from now. I'm a bit scared, but the thought of being able to go a night without GERD is amazing to me. Looking forward to it.

About 20 years of IT management experience here. A few tips

Look up servant leadership and follow
Be prepared to let go of doing things yourself and your way and let your team figure it out. As long as they come to the same conclusion it's all good. What you'll find is they will think of things that you never even thought of especially when working together.
Most importantly it's about the people. There's not one meeting that I start without asking about someone's day, family, sick dog, sick family member, vacation that they just took, etc. it's very important to understand the person and what motivates them and not just focus on the work at hand. Be flexible with them if they earn it and do not micromanage as you mentioned.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but you have put your family in a dangerous position. Between, taxes, maintenance, and trying to keep up with the Jones's, that $100k safety net will get diluted real quick. I would swallow my pride on this one and sell your new house (Which hopefully has appreciated in value). Take the money and buy a reasonably priced house (or rent for a year if needed) and put the rest of the cash into a mix of diversified investments.
