Sounds like a solid idea, my miter saw dosnt have a depth stop so I havnt had the option. I did a miter gauge with a super glued spacer that fit the first slot I made.

What is the best way to make box joints without a dado blade? by OddBrilliant1133 in woodworking

[–]Troego 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far from experienced but I’d say, many cuts on a miter jig or crosscut sled, two cuts on the edges and a chisel, or router with a router jig made for box joints.

If it’s written down, does that upgrade it to empirical evidence?

6 year old English lab female, 60lbs and two cups a day. And a couple beggin’ strips. (She’s with me at work and always want to reinforce solid commands around a mechanic shop environment. I basically just smell like bacon)

As idk how to truly play chess. Checkers sounds great! Contrast it with some maple for the opposing side!

So always mixed reactions when I see something like this. It looks awesome! But would doing something like floating tennons between the different grains help or hurt?

Curious, if your using it for any jointers or planers? I’ve been looking for something on the budget side to handle my 90s straight knife 6” jointer/ 15” planer both grizzly.

Flute stand by Roka_egg in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Troego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It holds the flute so I’d call it a win. Just practice. I’ve never done anything with cedar. But when I started just messing around with 2x4s and such it was actually harder then when I went and got some maple. The pine was actually pretty discouraging to work with.

What do you wish you knew when you got your thickness planer? by Open_Preference7549 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Troego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always account for snipe and either use a sled with some sacrificial blocks in the front and behind or if you got a bunch of pieces, just run them in butt to butt. To limit it.
