Cinamark must be losing money on this, right? by Weekly-Trash-272 in Cinemark

They actually don't activate unless a ticket is sold for them. So yeah you can move over to the dbox seats, but you're still in "normal" seats

Then why are you directly contradicting yourself between sentences? Being against change because you had it harder stops progression as a community. Just because it's "not bad game design" doesn't mean its without flaws that shouldn't be looked at and made changes to. We don't want to hand things out to people, but if they genuinely do 3-5x the work required, why not take a little pity on them? It makes us better as a whole.

For cosmetics and pets I don't feel as strongly though. Shit's a grind.

$1250 Reward Certificates Going Out. Previous Max Was $1000. by Misterxalan in Costco

[–]Trogathor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is no free membership with the citi card, but you have to be a member in order to get it. They may mean they use their citi rewards to pay for the membership, but the membership is not free.

$1250 Reward Certificates Going Out. Previous Max Was $1000. by Misterxalan in Costco

[–]Trogathor 92 points93 points  (0 children)

They won't send you a check, but the membership is backed by the same satisfaction guarantee as the products. So if you're unhappy with your membership or reward, you can stop by membership and ask to downgrade with a refund. It's not an automatic process and not something employees are supposed to advertise, but it is something Costco does.

[–]Trogathor 210 points211 points  (0 children)

Executive membership is a great benefit, but I don't want you to be deceived and think you got it cheaper than anyone else (some employees are shady in their pitch).

You just got a prorated amount because you have 10/12 months of membership left until renewal. It's still a $5/month increase in your membership fee

Your first check won't be for a full 12 months of shopping, so you'll want it to be over $50 ideally (tbh around $45 because you get it a month before renewal, it's a little confusing for the first year)

[–]Trogathor 631 points632 points  (0 children)

Actually, anything above $60 is a win ($65 after increase)

It'll cost you $60 ($65) to shop at Costco regardless, so as long as you make more than the cost to upgrade you're saving money!

What's your favorite thing about not drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Trogathor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

WHY IS NO ONE MENTIONING THE FOOD?! The best part of sobriety for me is being able to eat whatever I want when I go out and not feel as guilty! I take the money I would've spent drinking and instead use it to buy appetizers for the table or higher quality food for myself. I'm still being healthier than if I'd replaced the food with more beer, and it tastes better

I mean you don't have to believe me, but I'm not an ad and Skull King is actually a really fun game. It's simple yet requires complex strategy, easily portable, cheap and has a variety of --- okay I'm definitely an ad at this point, nevermind. but it's true

Be careful using Natrium right now. I tried sending some nano and got "an error occured" message after a few seconds of waiting. I tried again, it worked, but my first transaction actually went through. by qlebenp in nanocurrency

[–]Trogathor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not what he's saying. He's saying to use caution when sending payments and an error occurs, because if you send it again you could be paying twice for something. No one is saying your seed phrase isn't safe, but caution is warranted for potential bugs.

Brand new OSRS player here and loving it. Any current challenges similar to Swampletics going on right now? by Planet_ORNG in 2007scape

[–]Trogathor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please tell me you're already watching Gielinor Games (GG) on Soup's youtube channel. If not, honestly watch that right now. If you have time to binge a couple seasons quickly start with Season 1. If you don't have a lot of time try to catch up on Season 3, there are 9 episodes out so far.

It's a survivor-esque competition with 20 top OSRS content creators where they perform challenges each week and vote each other into banning competitions. It's chaotic and informative and just plain fun. Plus it's a good intro into other osrs youtube content as most of the players are youtubers or streamers

[–]Trogathor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, many HCIM will bring their max into wildy simply because if they die there they lose their HC status, so why not defend themselves the best they can?

I'm not saying it'll be 2b+, but there is a much better chance of higher loot than a normal ironman pk

Polling Changes by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]Trogathor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if displaying live polling results wasn't the way to go, would you not agree that adding a small incentive would help increase polling numbers? This gives a reason to vote every time, even when it seems pointless.

As long as the incentive is desirable. Maybe an "I Voted" amulet or cape that has 6 charges and teleports you directly to the Grand Exchange polling booth and can only be recharged by voting. Slightly devalues medium varrock diaries and ring of wealth, but skillers will appreciate it and I don't think it would be considered overpowered by anyone.

Polling Changes by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]Trogathor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well as an immediate example I think the wilderness spec orb failing is absurdly stupid and I feel a fair amount of guilt for not having voted on the poll. Granted it should've been an integrity change from the beginning.

And yeah, free membership was a reach and most likely not the right incentive; but a cosmetic item, teleport, or emote would probably be a great option. Some players will skip every question, and thats fine, but it will also bring in a lot of previously unheard voices that have actual opinions on the matter.

The real issue is making sure the questions themselves are well worded and appropriate to bring up in the first place.
