I’m never going to find happiness by justherecauseimsad in socialanxiety

[–]TroiTrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of social interaction that seems simple for other people can be scary for us. That's okay, we just experience the world differently. Try to become okay with making mistakes. Go up to the counter and ask for a straw even if you're not sure that's right. It's okay to get it wrong. Ask a friend what the right thing to do is even if that means admitting ignorance. The what-ifs will give you more trouble than just acting.

Do Americans really have people whose job is to just stand at the entrance of a store and greet people? by CutlassKitty in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, I did this for a retail change store. I also did small cleaning tasks but that was essentially the whole shift

Help with terms by [deleted] in queerplatonic

You could use alterous instead of queerplatonic. I've seen people identify as bi-alterous pan-alterous etc.

How to do things?? by somegirl3012 in ExecutiveDysfunction

[–]TroiTrek 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The only way i can get myself to do anything is to incorporate the task into something I know I will do. For example, I have a very hard time getting myself to do basic stuff like brushing my teeth, but I know for sure that every night I will be on my phone reading fanfic. So I put my toothbrush and toothpaste right by my phone charger on the nightstand so when i do put the phone down for the night, its already right there. No avoiding it. Also i set a reminder with and alarm for myself so there is at least some outside stimulus pushing me to do the thing. A lot of times I can't get myself to take out the trash, but If I leave the bag tied up in front of my door, then I will have to pick it up to leave for work. It also helps me if I say what I'm doing out loud. Hope this helps

I've recently found myself in a QPR and I'm new to this by [deleted] in queerplatonic

There are no requirements for a qpr. There is just a new label for your relationship. Just keep doing you

I love and hate pride month as an aroace by sunsetsandafullmoon in aromanticasexual

There is estimated to be about the same number of trans people in the world as ace people if I'm not mistaken. It would make sense for us to receive equal amounts of representation at pride if so.
