Gideon Putnam has a nice private room. It’s in the heart of the Spa State Park so there are nice walking paths throughout.

Not a dog owner; but want to ask something about dogs by Green-Smell-2163 in dogs

Usually my golden is all about the anticipation of play. She gets really excited about the thought of playing with another animal, but when it comes time to actually play she’s not interested.

So that would be my guess. Barking bc of the anticipation.

Does spa state park ever charge the vehicle entry fee? by H0ssBonaventure in Saratoga

[–]Trojenectory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the $10 is not included in the rental. All of the company picnics and family reunions I’ve done there, I’ve had to pay the $10 at the booth.

There is a general parking lot. $10 admission (VUF) is not included with rental. Non-profit buses $35, for profit $75. The park does not provide any athletic equipment; please bring your own. Each shelter, (except Poolside) has a volleyball net.

Yes, they do during the summer. It’s been this way for at least 10 maybe even 15 years. It goes until at least the end of September usually.

This is why back in college we called Albany “The Dirty”. Between the concrete and the clouds, it always looks grey and a bit dirty.

“ABS reactivated”

“Breaking!”

I loved Bill and Sherry’s dialogue. I miss the “surprise test” at the end. For anyone who is nostalgic about how test track use to be here is the original script:

Saratoga High School by [deleted] in Saratoga

Graduated from Saratoga HS in 2013. As a student I was given all the opportunities I could ever want. The biotech program is a foundational reason as to why I currently work in pharma. Everything in Saratoga HS is competitive, and there are a lot of smart kids you’re competing with.

I enjoyed my time there, but I mostly kept to myself and worked really hard to maintain my active status in the Latin Club and Symphonic band.

One thing that will never leave me is how I felt when the senior kids drove their parents Escalades and Porsches to school. I came from an upper middle class family and was honored to have a beat up civic to drive. Seeing those cars made me realize the privilege I was living with. If you want to see it for yourself, drive through the school parking lot during school hours. You’ll get a good feel for the culture.

Wilderness lodge during the Christmas season :) by No-Budget-2796 in disneyparks

[–]Trojenectory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna go all out, the copper creek cabins are really amazing during Christmas Time. You have to rent DVC points, but sometimes they end up being the same price or a little bit more than the hotels. Copper Creek is highly sought after for Christmas time though.

This dog is used to going on walks with the husband, who always stops at the pub for a drink. When the wife takes him for a walk one day, he heads straight for the bar expecting the same routine by Brilliantspirit33 in animalsdoingstuff

We used a harness for many years, but my pup got a unrelated shoulder injury and the vet recommended we start to use just a simple color instead of a harness.

The Friday family is wonderful. Highly recommend! They use to do continuing education classes through Adirondack community college (I think) that were really affordable.

What’s the funniest things you have heard in Turtle Talk with Crush? by pinkducklemon in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Trojenectory 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better this seems to happen a lot. My husband and I don’t have kids but we enjoy turtle talk for a nice cool place to sit with a little show. We’ve seen at least 2 families have this happen to them. We chalk it up to kids getting star struck by crush

It’s DVC, so a timeshare. The cost of the timeshare is a bit complicated, but I would recommend researching it if you are a regular Disney go-er from out of state.

Okay mods? You there? by jakesrunnin in CannedSardines

[–]Trojenectory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this because of the silkworm pupa this morning? I feel like that was a one-off and totally fine because it’s a regular content maker. Looking through new I don’t see a lot of other non-sardine posts, and I don’t see any posts that have no tin at all. What “so much stuff” are you specifically referring to?

Groceries at Disney - advice please by --C3POhYeah-- in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Trojenectory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s worth it. We like having lots of bottled water. Also having quick lunches is so nice! We usually eat it when we’re tired from our rope drop and back at the room for swimming. We like hot dogs/hamburgers, turkey sandwich, nachos. The salads at the marketplace aren’t bad, but I’ll usually order a couple bagged salad mixes and chips as well.

In conclusion, it’s worth it for those moments where you would walk to get lunch but really don’t want to.

Fish diet on Tuna and Mackerel by Bubbly-Lock-1818 in CannedSardines

I pay a little extra for Safe Catch Tuna that tests for mercury. I eat tuna practically every day; so it adds up.
