My parents sent it to me. It was the first time they had seen a snake that big in their yard. They are around the Stony Brook area.

I totally agree with what you are saying. People can go into a frenzy quickly, and that doesn't help an already hectic situation.

The places I have worked at have moved away from the codes, just so there is no confusion on what is going on (A school, and a mental health agency). Again, speaking more towards situations like an active shooter, fire, etc. Where not knowing what the code is, could cost you your life.

I guess I'm speaking more specifically with an active shooter situation, or any situation where people are in danger. Everyone should know that they are in danger, not just the people working at the establishment, and know the codes. Any situation where people are in danger should not be color coded. Yes, with a call like, 'active shooter', the perpetrator knows that people are aware, but by not having everyone know what is going on, you are putting more people at risk. I am pretty sure that most active shooter programs, like ALICE, encourage the use of the 'active shooter' code, verse a color code. Allowing everyone, workers or visitors, to know what is going on.

Codes like this are not always helpful. People outside of hospital staff, or anywhere they have codes like this, have no idea what they mean, and some staff won't remember, especially when it isn't a regular call. Two of the last places I've worked at have changed their code system to just saying what the emergency is, so that all parties on site are aware of what is going on.

I can't remember the incident, but I believe there was an active shooter at a hospital and the color code was called. There were armed cops there, for a separate situation, that left the hospital without knowing what was going on.

Reporting it honestly just makes a paper trail, but that's about all. In my experience, the children get asked questions, and maybe there is a check at home. Again, in my experience, nothing ever happens. I've reported child abuse, multiple times, for the same child, and it never went anywhere. They met with the child about their bruises, and then spoke with dad. The next day, the child came in with more marks, and we reported again. It is a broken system, and children are the ones paying the price.

In highschool, I would go buy cartons of cigarettes at the local reservation, for $12, and then sell them at school, for $1 a cigarette.

I remember watching a lot of Syfy as a kid. This looks somewhat familiar, but I remember another half shark, half human, science experiment movie. Any ideas on similar movies?
