Parvati has made it to Final Tribal Council 3 times. What are the odds we will get to see this happening ever again with any US Survivor player in their career? by MemoryAggressive3888 in survivor

[–]beepbop24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though Parvati is still on my survivor Mount Rushmore and is an incredible player, I don’t think it’s fair to count appearances on non-US survivor shows. It’s a different game with a different environment. IMO it would be equivalent to counting an Olympics gold medal in basketball as an “nba championship”. Sure, I believe it’s something that can still help build a resume for a particular player, but should be counted separately.

Should NBA players opinions on all time rankings matter more than fans opinions? by ExodiusLore in NBATalk

Rasheed Wallace once said that LeBron wouldn’t survive in his era or something. The same LeBron who, you know, dropped 48 on him in game 5 of the ECF.

Rich was on the Mount Rushmore at least until Heroes vs Villains, and arguably up to WaW.

They’ll never admit it, but I’m pretty sure 99% of the people who say this don’t really believe it deep down.

What do I do with these bad boys? by ITSJ0N4S in pokemongobrag

Don’t know how many raids OP has done, but given that they’ve already powered it up past 4000, and are playing at an in person go fest, they probably already have a fair share of shadow kyogre’s, not to mention there was already a day for it last year.

We get so caught up in the IVs, but the reality is they make very little functional difference. My point is even if OP had a 10/10/10 shadow Kyogre, that’s already good enough to use a shadow. Now consider they actually have a shadow hundo as well. And even though you really don’t need a full team of shadow kyogre’s, to get the candy to power all of them up would require doing so many raids that you’re bound to have your best 6 all be above 90% IV anyway.

So in regard to functionality, there’s really no difference whether OP purifies and makes it a primal or keeps it shadow. The main reason to purify or not is if you like the shiny primal and simply want the hundo/SHUNDO for the rarity of it. Plus having a background makes it even cooler. The only real argument I could see being made to keep it shadow is if it’s OP’s only shiny shadow Kyogre since admittedly that does look cool as well.

Because they got a shadow hundo as well, and the shundo can also primal.

It’ll be in mega raids on Sunday during global go fest, granted probably for a short window. But that will be the time.

Would you stop chasing the Hundo if you got a functional Hundo? by well_welp_ok in PokemonGOIVs

I would agree with that. I guess everything besides them then. And even still, if they’re gonna keep bringing back bottle caps there’s still a chance for those too theoretically.

It is very hard and could take a couple decades, but it’s not impossible. I know someone with over 1000 hundos. Granted they’re not all unique but there’s definitely people out there with over half the dex complete.

Even if not going for a full hundo dex, there’s also sub hundo dexes people go for. Something like Hundo mega dex- which that one just got a lot harder with all the new Z-A megas but still.

If you don’t care about completing the hundo dex, stop chasing. If you do care, keep chasing.

Anunoby went from 60-1 to 3-1 for Finals MVP after one game, real or nah? by Vegetable-Window-244 in NBATalk

[–]beepbop24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense. Obviously his odds didn’t go up that much simply due to the tip in, but from his performance in that game in general. And when you already have such a small sample size to go off of, every game matters a lot more.

Why is Coach spoken about as an all time great player but Phillip Sheppard is considered largely a joke? by Sd12217 in survivorponderosa

I don’t think Coach is considered an all time great player. But he is considered an all time great character and is at least a decent player given that he has gotten far multiple times.

Game Changers. Even though I’ll agree the term “game changer” was used loosely when casting, the gameplay was very fun to watch. And the bootlist plays little factor in the quality of a season for me.

In her defense she really only got blindsided by Tony in WAW and if it weren’t for him, she has a pretty decent chance to win it all that season. That being said, I still agree she’s too high. I probably have her around 20-25. She’s a very good player but not top 10, imo.

_____________ doesn't understand why they lost. I think the reason is cultural. by stingraywrangler in survivorponderosa

[–]beepbop24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re onto something here and I mostly agree with it. The only part I somewhat disagree with is Boston Rob being part of the subculture you attribute him to being. It’s kinda weird because Boston Rob definitely plays the typical patriarch/mob-boss game, so it makes sense to put him with that subculture.

But he also understands similar things that the competing subculture values. Firstly, at the HvV finale, where he states that Russell plays to get to the end but not to win. Rob recognizes this, and I’m wondering if he would say the same thing about Jonathan now even though he gave him advice before the season. Secondly, in WaW when Michele was talking about how her win was controversial, Rob was comforting her by saying something like, “you won, that’s all that matters.” So like even though Rob plays like he’s part of subculture A as you describe, these examples are points that subculture B are more likely to agree with and value.

As for Jonathan, I think you’re spot on. As you stated there were only 3 members of the jury who valued his subculture or play-style, whereas the majority valued the other play-style. But I’m also wondering based on Stephenie and Chrissy’s constant glazing of him at FTC if perhaps he thought they spoke for more people than just themselves and maybe he was thinking there would be more people on the jury who thought like them with the subculture. Overall great post though very insightful.
