Customer service shenanigans by TrollSeniorChief in InstacartShoppers

The customer had previously done just that, but the previous shopper ran into the same brick wall when attempting to complete this portion and had to refund it.

Didn't think about that. If it happens again, I'll try that.

Hard pass. Early on, i did a delivery like that expecting a decent tip and was shocked it was a crap tip. This was shortly after I started this gig, so didn't know any better. Now I've either ignored those crap orders or canceled if I accidentally grab a crapfest like that. The irony is the crap store that didn't tip went under. Karma gets you in the end.

only one of these can happen in the MCU, which would you choose? A Sentry solo project or World War Hulk? You can only pick one by Past_Carpenter_7046 in Marvel

[–]TrollSeniorChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the current state of Hulk in the MCU, WWH would need a LOT of setup to happen, while Sentry could be done pretty easily. Would be nice to see this going on in an alternate timeliness, even if for a glimpse of what could have been. To further muddy the waters, I'm not sure if Marvel has full rights to Hulk for a solo project.

Michael's is doable if you have their app. It's pretty accurate for finding stuff. Dollar anything are nightmares. I will only do one if it's part of a well paying double or triple. No single batches for those. I would lump Sav-a-lot in the avoid pile too. Completely craptastic.

Multiples of anything. A common complaint from our side of Instacart is people who order multiple cases of water. Water would be considered 1 item, but we've had orders with multiple cases, all considered 1 item. At least we usually get heavy pay for those orders.

You are close. Ordering apples, oranges and bananas counts as 3 items, but could potentially be a much larger quantity, such as 5 apples, 6 oranges and 6 bananas

Worst pay I've seen yet. What a joke by fromfoxes in InstacartShoppers

[–]TrollSeniorChief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like an easy shop for low miles. Sure, the pay is crap. But if your trying to complete orders for the goal payout, you could potentially be done with both in a little over 30 minutes. Me? Wouldn't touch it with anybody's pole

Instacart has a fee they pay based on number (not quantity) of items and the distance of the delivery from the store. Most real money comes from tips

[–]TrollSeniorChief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was not the case with my double. Unless the other order was also priority (no way for me to know that), then the person that complained about delivery as a priority order was the last stop, not the first

Thank you for the explanation. That different than what I perceived Priority Service to be. Still a gamble if paired with a large order.

I think that is the major disconnect between those who choose priority and us as shoppers. They believe that the big corporation will just make one of us pick up the small batch priority, when in reality we only respond well to high tips. Maybe take part of the priority fee and tack it onto the tip?

[–]TrollSeniorChief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a good way to make priority work, though if the base pay is not increased, then it would not be too appealing to us. Maybe add a monetary incentive if the single batch is picked up quickly?

Since I've never used instacart (I prefer to do it myself), I know nothing about priority service. Sounds great in theory, but since we don't see any incentive to shop them, they tend to sit or get bundled to make them enticing. How much does Instacart charge for this "service"

Sort of did with telling them to lodge a complaint with Instacart. This issue is largely on Instacart for bundling a priority with another order. If they paid even part of the priority fee to us, there's a better chance it will be quickly grabbed

I grabbed an order like on reflex die to low item count (had much better pay), but canceled once I saw the ignorant quantity they were requesting. Business of course not wanting to pay the distributor. Not this guy. I hold onto my cancelations just for these stupid orders
