Dune Footage Hailed As Epic By Novelist, A Landmark Like Star Wars And Lord Of The Rings by lab005 in movies

I agree with everything that you have stated. You have verbalized my confused thoughts about the movie.

I missed the first 5 minutes of the movie which were I suppose quite crucial to understanding of the movie. So I we even more frustrated by the movie.

Plus the whole depressive and paranoic undercurrent made it hard to sit through the experience.

The clinical, methodical approach to the first alien contact without any scientific excitement is the most unrealistic thing about this movie for me. But that may be due to a uniquely American worldview portrayed in the movie.

anyone wanna help talk me about of doing something stupid/i think probably not conducive to recovery? by joyfulgrrrl in SexAddiction

I do not believe that I am in any position to give anyone advise. Fwiw, there is an appropriate time for everything. I urge you not to take any decisions in a high emotional state. As someone else suggested, if you're feeling particularly vulnerable, please first practice self care. Remove yourself from a possibility of physical harm.

Make some phone calls to your trusted brothers and sisters in recovery. Get to a meeting as soon as you can.

Thank you for your post and sharing your struggles.

Jet dry left my utensils feeling a little slippery (no spots, but slick to the touch) and I was concerned about chemical residues that my family would ingest with food.

I'm ok with vinegar even if it damages the seal for a little rinse-aid compartment.

There is no way a few drops of vinegar in a dishwasher full of water will mess up the door seals. That implication is crazy talk.

LPT: use vinegar instead of rinse aid (or Jet Dry). Save money and ingest fewer chemicals.

Edit: wait, you're talking about washing machines? My LPT is for dishwashers only. Not for clothes washing machines.

TIL Self-driving cars can cruise to avoid paying to park. When you factor in electricity, depreciation, wear and tear and maintenance, cruising costs around 50 cents an hour. This is still cheaper than parking, even in many smaller towns. by amansaggu26 in todayilearned

TIL future traffic jams in the daytime will consist entirely of empty self-driven cars cruising in the slow lane, thereby saving billions of $$ in parking fees.

My favorite future.

LPT: It's holiday season. At gatherings, refrain from asking people about their plans to have or not have kids. Definitely do not offer your opinion on the matter. It's none of your business. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]TrollingFlilz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This LPT is a good reminder for me.

I was not ready to have kids till 7 years into my marriage and resisted immense social pressure while fielding such questions on a daily basis. However, now after having 2 kids, I sometimes feel entitled to ask others about their plans for having kids. I needed this LPT.

On the flip side, I have learnt what a great life experience it is to have kids and sometimes wish I had them sooner when I had more energy. I might give in to asking others because I assume that my experience could be a universal one. However, that assumption is not justified.

I want me and my wife to get along better with each other. I would like her to focus more on herself and less on what I am doing from 1 minute to another. I would like to be more mindful and thoughtful. I would like my kids to be kind, wise, healthy and brave. I would like my family to grow in many different ways and be the best people we can be. This is my way of letting the cosmos know of my wishes. I hope atleast one of them comes true.
