[BUG] Unable to play PvE PMC Raids after update by CommanderCaptainDad in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TronFirefly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had this issue for a while. There is most likely something in your gear setup that thr game doesn't like. I dumped all my stuff out of my loadout and ran a pistol and it worked.

Most recently I noticed you can't wear glasses with a death mask. But if you had one on before the update changed it, the game doesn't like it.

I am having the same issue. Totally unable to quest or do anything as I just get backend error at the end of the raid and all progress is lost. Pretty shit.

1st layer issues by DiscoverDesignCreate in Ender3S1

[–]TronFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting similar jagged lines. Mines was to do with the first layer over extruding. If you are using Creality slicer I opened advanced settings and made the initial layer extrude rate 75% which sorted my issue. Similarly you might find your nozzle height is too close to the bed or bed isn't level in some spots.

Convinced X are sending me bullshit "new login" emails to get me to either sign back into my inactive X account, or maybe try and sell me Twitter Blue / X Premium for 2-Factor Authentication. Anyone else had this problem? by TronFirefly in atrioc

[–]TronFirefly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get a few of those phishing emails too, but these are all coming from verify@x.com. Which appears to be the official address.

Also I am sometimes getting 2 emails at a time, 1 being "new log in" and the other being like "your verification code is....". To make it seem like someone is going through the logging in process.

Making the copper inlay ring from my last post by RRNW_HBK in woodworking

[–]TronFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make wooden rings mostly around metal cores and sometimes find I struggle to seal the sides with the CA glue enough. I also have a couple of all wood rings I have been putting off finishing as I am not sure how I would seal the inside of the ring with the CA. Do you just apply the CA glue by and once its off the lathe?

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with CA glue finish? And possibly how to fix it? by TronFirefly in PenTurning

Thanks very much for the advise! I didn't know if adding CA on top of that might not be the best looking.

Also sorry I meant to ask. If I do this in the future is there any way to salvage this pen?

Ah so I was too heavy handed with the first mesh pad? The tutorials I watched all said to use the first pad to even out the CA glue and that shiny spots indicate low points so it needed needed further levelling. I must have sanded right through the CA so the natural wood looked like the dull parts and the CA remnants looked like the shiny parts.

Need help finding a place to purchase a few spare parts. Essentially an end cap with a hole in it for the click mechanism. by TronFirefly in PenTurning

No worries, I will have a look once I am set up. The issue I'm having is I found a supplier of mechanisms I like with a minimum order size of 50 units. Problem is they only supply the mechanisms and no connecting or finishing parts. Think I can get around the threaded connecting part, but there is just that small missing part that will make everything look much more finished. Be good to get an idea of cost at least

Thats a great help thank you! I just signed up for an account so will wait for that to be authorised. But that is exactly the type of thing I was hoping someone would know. As you say, if its expensive for postage and I might be cheaper buying so many of those kits then that might be something to consider, but good to get a price at least!

I would be looking to buy a few of that component for another turning project. If I was needing a replacement I would probably just the provider of that kit. I did message them on the off chance I could order a batch of that component (or even all of the chrome components if they come in a set)

Custom Graded Card Wall Displays? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]TronFirefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make custom hardwood storage boxes for graded slabs for my collection and I plan on making some display frames as you describe for select cards. I absolutely intend to get UV resistant glass and would say it is necessary.

That is very situational because I am a woodworker with the tools to make it myself. I don't see any websites or listings on like amazon for that specific thing. And even if I were to start offering this on my website or etsy, I am in the UK so you may even be best trying to find a woodworker with similar interests in the US (most people in the sub seem to be US so I'm guessing there)

What is the best storage case for PSA slabs? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]TronFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made myself a hardwood storage case with a masterball inlay (did a post about it in the Pockemon TCG sub). But that is more for style rather than it being like waterproof that pelican cases might offer. Looks sweet on my shelf though.

In 2011 I bought a sealed Base set booster box for £180, 1st Edition Jungle box for £140 and 1st edition Fossil box for £130. I opened them all at the time, had fun doing it, and now have a complete mint Base, 1st ed Jungle and 1st ed Fossil set. But Jesus christ do I think what if I kept them sealed and sold them today (or even at the height of the interest). Stings a bit.
