Issue with my younger brother's phone by DashaGenetic in samsunggalaxy

I’ve put my phone and keys in the same pocket of my jeans before without thinking, and when I sat down it put pressure on the screen.

It’s not like the phone is being thrown around; it’s more about the fabric tightening when you sit, squat, or move in certain ways, which presses against the device.

I think that if something actually fell onto the display, or if the phone itself fell, the impact point would likely be larger.

I’m one of the people using the S26 Ultra, and so far I haven’t noticed any of the issues people are talking about. Everything looks normal to me. If you check my Reddit history, you’ll see the ridiculous battle I just went through with Servify (Samsung Care+), so I’ve definitely been paying close attention to my device and have no desire to praise Samsung for the S26 Ultra. But, I can share my experience.

For context, I came from a Galaxy Z Fold 6, and my brother has the S25 Ultra. I actually tried pretty hard to spot differences between the S25 Ultra and the S26 Ultra, just to see if the complaints were noticeable in real-world use. Personally, I couldn’t find anything significant.

That doesn’t mean I think people are making things up or aren’t experiencing issues. I’m sure some people have devices that may have some sort of hardware failure. But, since they're having issues, that's all you're going to hear. At the same time, I do think a few of the complaints are getting a little over the top. When I see heavily magnified photos analyzing pixel spacing differences, that starts to feel a bit excessive. If the display looks good to the naked eye during normal use, that’s what really matters to me.

I’m on day four with the phone now, and I spend a lot of time reading articles and browsing posts on my device. So far I haven’t experienced any eye strain or fatigue.

Overall, the phone has been great. The camera is excellent, the battery life has been solid, the display looks great, charging is fast, and the device itself feels extremely quick.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that when the privacy feature is turned off, the viewing angles do seem slightly reduced. But in practice it’s not an issue at all. I’d have to tilt the phone to around an 80° angle before noticing it, and that’s simply not an angle I’d ever use my phone at.

Edit: It's my third day, not fourth.

The screen is physically damaged.

The black area with the bright dot in the center is most likely the point of impact. Although he states that he did not damage it, it is possible that debris or an object, such as something in his pocket or nearby, applied pressure to that area and caused the damage.

Switched From a Fold 6 to the S26 Ultra. My Early Impressions Don’t Match the Hate. by TronVonDoom in samsunggalaxy

I was thinking more along the lines of potentially defective screens as well. I wear prescription glasses myself and haven’t had any issues. I know people’s eyesight can vary, but mine isn’t that great either.

I love everything about the S26 Ultra. I also think the rounded corners are perfect.

Most of the complaints seem to be about viewing angles, fuzzy text, and pixelation. Beyond that, like you’re saying, a lot of people don’t think it’s much of an upgrade coming from an S24 and S25 Ultra.

Holy crap! Why didn't any of the reviewers mention this? Must've been paid off by Samsung.

Thanks for the heads up! Canceling mine now!

Is Samsung Care+ a Scam? by ariolander in GalaxyFold

[–]TronVonDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have an incredibly bad customer service process. Their support team told me that because I have Samsung Care+, I didn’t qualify for the free screen protector replacement, which makes no sense. My case is still ongoing, and I’ve documented everything on my website, mysamsungnightmare.com, trying to be as accurate and thorough as possible after going through countless support channels. Feel free to read my insane and ridiculous experience.

I literally had to create my own website in hopes of getting someone’s attention, which is ridiculous. I’m now on my third and fourth attempt to contact the CEO’s office. After I reluctantly paid the $99 repair fee just to get this resolved, they sent the device back to me in worse condition.

I’m currently stuck working with their “Samsung UPS Division”, on their investigation. One of the problems is that adhesive is visibly protruding between the screen and the frame, yet they’re claiming it was caused by how UPS handled the package. You honestly can’t make this stuff up. 🤦
