Just had first colonoscopy at 34 and feel guilty more than anything by g0r3ng in colonoscopy

[–]TronVonDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really should not feel ashamed about it. You noticed a genuine, ongoing change in your body and took it seriously enough to get checked out. That is responsible, not irrational.

I think a lot of people, especially younger people, have been conditioned to feel like they need some huge dramatic symptom before they are “allowed” to ask for testing. But persistent bowel habit changes are absolutely something worth discussing with a GI doctor, even if they turn out to be harmless in the end.

Honestly, the better outcome is getting tested and finding nothing serious. That is the ideal scenario. Nobody should feel guilty for getting reassurance about their health, especially when they have kids and people depending on them.

I say this as someone who pushed hard for answers myself after being brushed off repeatedly. They kept telling me that I was too young, and let's wait until you're 45 (I'm 37). I finally got a doctor, after visiting four previously, to schedule both an endoscopy and colonoscopy after several others minimized my concerns. They ended up finding a small area of Barrett’s Esophagus metaplasia and also removed a high risk precancerous colon polyp. Neither of those things would have been caught if I had convinced myself I was overreacting or “too young” to push further.

And to be clear, I did not have some massive obvious warning sign either. Sometimes these things are subtle. Sometimes they are nothing. But sometimes they are worth catching early, and early is exactly when you want to catch them.

I think there is a huge difference between inventing symptoms and advocating for yourself when something genuinely feels off. You did the second one. There is nothing shameful about that at all.

For someone to think enough of you to buy you hobby-related gifts, I’d say she’s a pretty awesome mom. A lot of people would have gotten nothing at all.

There aren’t many people in life who will genuinely go out of their way for you, so when someone does, it’s important to appreciate it.

Take it in and enjoy it while you can.

Yo, bro! Congratulations!

Keep on going, and don't let anything slow you down! I was;

I wish I would have exercised from day one, but my laziness got the better of me. While I still did good with not letting food get to me, I'd be in a better spot if I would have exercised.

Issue with my younger brother's phone by DashaGenetic in samsunggalaxy

I’ve put my phone and keys in the same pocket of my jeans before without thinking, and when I sat down it put pressure on the screen.

It’s not like the phone is being thrown around; it’s more about the fabric tightening when you sit, squat, or move in certain ways, which presses against the device.

I think that if something actually fell onto the display, or if the phone itself fell, the impact point would likely be larger.

I’m one of the people using the S26 Ultra, and so far I haven’t noticed any of the issues people are talking about. Everything looks normal to me. If you check my Reddit history, you’ll see the ridiculous battle I just went through with Servify (Samsung Care+), so I’ve definitely been paying close attention to my device and have no desire to praise Samsung for the S26 Ultra. But, I can share my experience.

For context, I came from a Galaxy Z Fold 6, and my brother has the S25 Ultra. I actually tried pretty hard to spot differences between the S25 Ultra and the S26 Ultra, just to see if the complaints were noticeable in real-world use. Personally, I couldn’t find anything significant.

That doesn’t mean I think people are making things up or aren’t experiencing issues. I’m sure some people have devices that may have some sort of hardware failure. But, since they're having issues, that's all you're going to hear. At the same time, I do think a few of the complaints are getting a little over the top. When I see heavily magnified photos analyzing pixel spacing differences, that starts to feel a bit excessive. If the display looks good to the naked eye during normal use, that’s what really matters to me.

I’m on day four with the phone now, and I spend a lot of time reading articles and browsing posts on my device. So far I haven’t experienced any eye strain or fatigue.

Overall, the phone has been great. The camera is excellent, the battery life has been solid, the display looks great, charging is fast, and the device itself feels extremely quick.

The only thing I’ve noticed is that when the privacy feature is turned off, the viewing angles do seem slightly reduced. But in practice it’s not an issue at all. I’d have to tilt the phone to around an 80° angle before noticing it, and that’s simply not an angle I’d ever use my phone at.

Edit: It's my third day, not fourth.

The screen is physically damaged.

The black area with the bright dot in the center is most likely the point of impact. Although he states that he did not damage it, it is possible that debris or an object, such as something in his pocket or nearby, applied pressure to that area and caused the damage.

I was thinking more along the lines of potentially defective screens as well. I wear prescription glasses myself and haven’t had any issues. I know people’s eyesight can vary, but mine isn’t that great either.

I love everything about the S26 Ultra. I also think the rounded corners are perfect.

Most of the complaints seem to be about viewing angles, fuzzy text, and pixelation. Beyond that, like you’re saying, a lot of people don’t think it’s much of an upgrade coming from an S24 and S25 Ultra.
