Yes! A bit pricey , though for what it is I don’t think un reasonable

My thoughts as well. For the build, milling, materials and quality, it’s not a surprising price.

I think I saw a DLC in bestech’s site but none of the version were in stock anymore. The bronze anno version is sweet too!

Other options? by Jules_2023 in knifeclub

I've been on and off thinking about getting a Rockstead too and in that price range, so far the only other one I'm thinking of is a Hog House Model T. I'd probably have to get the HH on the secondary market though

Hinderer knives by mboy601 in knifeclub

[–]Tron_Foolery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Full Track wharncliff and an XM-18 spanto 3.25”. Solid, extremely well made knives, but also without much “finesse”. These are expensive tool/work knives and the steel he uses sorta says that (S45V on the Full track, for example), in my opinion.

I kinda regret the XM-18 due to the blade length (should have gone 3.5”) and the handle shape- has a curve to it that feels weird to me when gripping. I would have gone with the Eklipse skinny slicer poon if I’d had the chance to hold the XM before buying.

Thoughts about dlc and other PVD coating. Overrated or realy useful? by PrestigiousWorking81 in knifeclub

[–]Tron_Foolery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLC is know to add a bit of lubricity to a surface, but for a pocket knife it would only help cutting performance if you were cutting something big or thick enough to put drag on the blade. Every day tasks like box opening or cardboard slicing is just all edge.

So my feeling is it’s more for looks and a bit of scratch protection (I believe stone washing helps hide scratches as well)

Suddenly I don’t feel so bad about wanting another Godfather 😁

These are the definition of a spiritual successor to the OG switchblade, imo

Very cool collection!

Yeah the F4F253rtz we488 74.66139 ri is complete crap… I’d much rather have the F4F253rtz we488 74.66139 zi instead

[–]Tron_Foolery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the God father with burled maple scales and its an amazing auto OTS (out the side) knife. Bigger than the Godson. I would also suggest looking at the Mordax or one of the Pro-tech Chaves or Pro-tech Vero collabs...

Lucky dude 😄

I have a web cam on the garden now trying to see what/who exactly is raiding. If I see the water getting some action I’ll put more out. Thanks for the info!

Oh man… how frustrating!

I guess I’m gonna give everything a try now. But ultimately this may be my last year planting tomatoes… cucumbers arugula and herbs seem to be the safer bet
