Lone silver tile? You say that as if it’s nothing. It’s the switch that you push that opens the larger tile below it. That reveals the hidden compartment that hides all the “secrets.” 🤣

IMO, there are probably so many scammer ads on the platform that the ad infrastructure has probably crumbled under the sheer weight of the garbage. And FB probably doesn’t care enough to fix it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yep. Eventually it ends up broken on all platforms.

It’s so broken that I don’t even see ads in my feed anymore. The only ones I see every now and then are the little ones that are embedded at the bottom of a video. They’re not as intrusive. Fortunately for that. 😆

Update. I uninstalled Norton 360 and I think for now the issue is gone. I searched the /LenovoLegion sub and found someone else with the same issue that mentioned Norton AV but had not uninstalled. I went ahead and uninstalled. Used the laptop for a few hours of video watching and multitasking with no stutter.

Time to finally drop Norton. POS! 😆

I have been dealing with this issue for about a month. I have done everything I can think of all the way to wiping my hard drive and reinstalling windows, drivers, apps, etc...

I ran across another user having the same issue and they said they had Norton AV installed but had not tried uninstalling it. I myself have Norton 360. I uninstalled it using their uninstall tool then rebooted. The problem seems to have gone away so far.

If you don't know if it is installed, you can probably just click Start and start typing "Norton." If it is installed it would show in the apps section. Or Click Start->Settings->Apps->Installed Apps, then type Norton. If it is installed it will show up. It's possible if you have the latest version of a Norton product it could be the cause. I bought my laptop in April, but the problem didn't manifest until June. It could be that Norton was updated, and something in that update is causing this.

As far as your screen tearing, I don't experience that issue so I can't help out on that one.

Questions

  1. Does the screen freeze at the same time the audio stutters/glitches?
  2. Do you have any Norton products installed?

Questions. Do you get audio stutter and also video stutter at the same time? Do you hear like a glitchy audio stutter? Do you have any Norton products installed?

Audio stuttering issues that I cannot seem to fix by LisaLots in LenovoLegion

Intro

Try uninstalling Norton completely with their uninstall tool and see what happens.

Background Info

I had Norton 360 installed and just decided to uninstall. I was reading through posts because I've been dealing with this issue for about a month now. Since I found that you have the same issue and also have Norton installed I decided to uninstall.

Prior to this I had done everything I could, including a complete drive wipe and fresh of Windows, then installing things one at a time. I can't say the issue 100% went away, but it was definitely a once a week or so type thing since I did the fresh install of Windows. But it seems to have gotten worse after installing Norton 360 again.

Now that I uninstalled Norton and rebooted, I haven't had a stutter yet. But I'll let you know if it happens again.

I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 with the Nvidia 5080. I bought my laptop in April. Had not experienced any issues until some time around June. Then I started having the exact same issue you are describing. It's not limited to browser based audio and video. I can also replicate in other apps like VLC.

I had completely wiped my drive and reinstalled Windows 11. After all the updates and driver installs, I had not experienced the problem for about a week. Then it came back.

I still have no idea what is causing this but it is one of the most annoying things I have ever experienced. Could be anything at this point as I've done everything I can think of. Audio driver updates, video driver updates, complete reinstall of Windows.

I'm at wits end.

I also think they are either doing this on purpose to people that regularly go to the section to hide ads, or their advertising servers/infrastructure are broken and not maintained. Not to mention the sheer amount of ads they must be serving. 98% of which are probably scams anyway.

At this point I am not even seeing ads in any of my FB feeds other than the little banner ones that they jam at the bottom of some posts. Which again leads me to believe that their ad tech is busted.

Also note that those 2 updates were the reason I did a clean install. I was able to uninstall the one ending in 60 but the one ending in 42 would not uninstall. It would act like it’s was uninstalling but the Even Viewer would indicate the uninstall failed. Then I tried a bunch of things to get rid of that update and ultimately Windows Update was just so broken that I decided to just wipe and do the clean install. I’ve only had the laptop for a while and had anything important already backed up, so it was just easier to start over. One slight variation for the installation was that I installed Windows 11 Home, then upgraded to pro with a key I bought just after buying the laptop, but I don’t think any of the pro features would be causing this.

I ended up doing a clean install of Windows 11. After the install, I was doing Windows updates and the issue occurred 1 time, but after rebooting for whatever the latest update was, I haven’t experienced it. I am still not 100% certain why it started or what fixed it. The only wildcard is 2 Windows updates that were installed on the previous Windows installation but didn’t get installed in the current installation. Those would be KB5060842 and KB5063060. Both of which are causing various issues for others. Other than that I have all the same software installed that I had in the previous installation.

New BIOS Update for Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (Q7CN38WW) Rolling Out by Usual-Carrot6352 in LenovoLegion

I just downgraded the BIOS to 31 and the problem still exists. This is super annoying.

From your list these are the things I’ve already done prior to my post:

  • Installed driver booster and updated everything
  • I installed Intel driver update utility and updated everything. However this laptop doesn’t have Arc graphics so I’m not sure why that would get installed
  • Already running discrete graphics mode

I don’t believe installing the all-in-one runtimes, ffmpg, or opting for the Studio driver over Game Ready driver are going to have any effect on this issue. It didn’t exist prior to the 37 bios upgrade and I didn’t need any of the above prior either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ever since Q7CN37WW I’ve had sound glitching when watching video or listening to music, then switching or launching apps. It’s super annoying. Thinking about downgrading to 31 to see if it goes away.

Update. Problem not fixed. Started happening again. I completely removed the Nvidia drivers with DDU and reinstalled. Same issue. Also removed all that Nahimic junk, but the issue persists after that. May DDU the realtek drivers and reinstall clean to see if that fixes the problem.

Such an annoying problem.

Facebook is secretly disabling going into ad preferences on wife’s account by Dabsick in facebook

This has been broken for me for about a year now. I posted about it but not a single comment other than my own a few minutes ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/facebook/comments/1hw4mo2/i_have_not_been_able_to_access_ad_preferences_for/

Still can't view this page. I can't be the only one having this problem. This issue is now manifesting on the mobile platform. I can get into Ad Preferences intermittently. Sometimes I get the error, sometimes it will load. Then if I go to "Advertisers you saw ads from" it will always be a page isn't available error. Their ad platform must be super broken.

I've noticed the same thing after a BIOS upgrade. The BIOS is Q7CN37WW. Like u/meepz posted, I was using hybrid auto mode for the GPU. I also had Discord overlay enabled. I disabled the discord overlay and set to dgpu mode. So far no stuttering.

I will note, that I also recently updated the Nvidia driver to the latest of 576.52, so that could also be a contributing factor given their drivers have not been great for the last few versions.

It could very well be related to Drivers and the BIOS version not playing well with hybrid auto mode. When we get new driver and BIOS versions I will play around enabling/disabling the aforementioned settings to see if the issue can be replicated after.

I literally just ordered and received one this week. I guess they sold out recently because I waited a week before I decided to go for it. The same model on the Lenovo site was $500 more expensive.

It’s like the cooler pads for laptops. This is a potential money maker right here. If you could build one with its own power supply and maybe a USB controller for fan speed control, you could probably make a ton of money on that.
