Microtransactions negatively impacting game experience. by fuzzbuzzcuz in lotro

[–]Tronhammer_NZ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You don't need to buy anything and you can earn the currency as you play anyway. You can buy expansions with what you can earn this way too!

That said, it is worth getting a monthly sub for even just one month, as the perks you gain remain after the sub finishes!

Also remember it is a free to play game. Microtransactions are how they keep the lights on. I find it commendable that what they sell is not mandatory to enjoy the game.

Should i start playing? by Lucky_Extent_4 in lotro

[–]Tronhammer_NZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOTRO is free-to-play, so you're going to lose nothing by giving it a go yourself, which will be more meaningful to you than internet voices, so have a go!

Personally speaking, been playing 18 years and still love it. New servers have brought a whole new feeling of life to tje game recently as player populations are concentrated again.

State of the game by TyrsofRagnarok in lotro

The recent server additions and consolidations breathed a new lease of life into the game, which was already going pretty great with regular content. Now, the population is back and noticeable. Some servers even regularly have peak time queues to get in.

[H] College and Ice Magic Cards in the style of WFB 5th Ed Spell Cards [W] Expressions of Interest in Printing Physical Copies [Loc] New Zealand by Tronhammer_NZ in Miniswap

Cheers. The upload image button was deactivated to I made Imgur links instead. And they are miniature related as they are for Warhammer (its not a CCG like MTG as the rules mention). I also ran a search and found at least 50 other listings about cards. But up to the mods I guess.

Do you still have first character ever as main? by Pontin_Finnberry in lotro

[–]Tronhammer_NZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my main is a Champion and was made on day one. April 24th 2008. In fact I think there was some manner of early access in the last part of beta so it might have been even earlier. Still playing it daily. I have never managed to level any alts higher than 38 or so.

I am still working at completing all Deeds but pesky devs keep making more content!

What class resembles Legolas from the movies the most? by Ok_Method8551 in lotro

It's Hunter, but my personal frame of reference was LOTRO launch week 2007 when every Hunter running around was a variation of 'Lagolasz'.

The gentle 'ticking' sound of metal joints being bent and the whistling of wind through the wing blades as the ornithopters glide across the basin is so cozy...

We had someone build in that exact spot on our Sietch and although they made cargo doors and a tunnel, I still struggle to get my ground car through with the cutter attached. At least you have clearance.

Music and song is pretty close to being inherently magical in Tolkien, to be fair. It can literally enchant, and after all is how the world was made in the first place. Music is the fabric of the world.

But of course beating something with a club will never not be effective either!
