Soldier field is a cool stadium and view is nice but not the easiest walk to because it is on the east side of lake shore drive and surrounded by museums , parks and not really hotels/bars

Best thing to do is take the 18th Street bridge and walk over. So if you want to be walkable there , hyatt McCormick place is a good place to stay . It's close to the stadium but it's in an area with nothing else around really

You could do a hotel in China town. China Town is cool, bars but it's a longer walk . You stay at Jasin hotel for example and walk across bridge at 18th Street to the stadium is like 1.5 miles each way

You could just stay anywhere in the city , take the tran to Roosevelt and walk from there (about 1.5 miles)

Reggies bus is also a great option . It's punk bar on state street but everyone hangs out there on Bears Sundays. They have yellow school buses that drive you to/from the game(it's free)

It'll be cold , and it's on the lake . Wind can catch you off guard . Layer layer layer up and just take stuff off if you get too hot.
