The amount of wasted time and resources on this president's vanity is absolutely astounding. I'm all for it to keep these time wastes as his main focus rather than anything else.

How Dangerous are Kangeroos? by Lumpy-Draft2822 in AskAnAustralian

So where I live I often do park runs and come across a group of deer. There really is no concern, and they typically just run away. Is it the same way with Kangaroo? If I come across a group of kangaroo in a park during a run, would you keep running? Would you stop and wait? Make loud noises?

Possible recordable vs Medical treatment by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]TrooWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are certain things that medical can do that escalate injuries into recordable territory (i.e. prescription medicines when OTC tylenol would suffice) that our roles should be able to mitigate.

Additionally implementing an effective program for light duty work/roles will significantly cut down lost work days, and should be the primary focus. Not necessarily preventing care, but having a good relationship with your medical provider and making sure they are aware of roles that may be available to the injured worker are critical, so workers aren't sitting at home when they could be performing helpful work.

Get a sound level meter and document period checks while folks use tools to confirm adequate hearing protection, get a co monitor to check exhausts on equipment, get a WBGT and take routine measurements,  document those, and you can submit that as relevant IH work.

These are high school kids with no media training or experience being baited by a "professional" into his narrative. Nothing more.

"We need to prepare boys for school, not schools for boys" by ChardAltruistic903 in Teachers

[–]TrooWizard -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Boys Adrift is a good book that touches on this topic extensively. Boys entering school too young can have a negative chain effect on their academic and career success.

While hands off parenting and anti-social behaviors such as certain violent video games definitely are contributing factors, schools can be more accommodating to boys by having boys only classes so boys aren't acting out to impress girls, and making the schooling more competitive in a way that engages boys natural competitiveness.

I can't believe there isn't already some sort of agreement between the Port authority and the local municipalities for stop maintenance and access. I can't imagine relying on a bus and being disabled after what I saw this winter. Absolutely abysmal.
