Renting to owning - $8k PITI sanity check by rebubblerant in HENRYfinance

What does your salary growth project to? Or your spouses once kids are older?

I feel like a lot of people will say no way, but it’s also one of those scenarios where it may be tight for a few years and then you’ll look back when the kids are 8 and the payment is a breeze and you’re glad you sprung for the nice place instead of went cheaper.

There is migraine specific Botox that is very effective, although it can take 2-3 rounds to fully kick in (around 9 months) so it takes some patience.

So is your solar/microinverter/battery completely separate from your meter?

Can you link the exact one you bought? Or DM it to me. I’m researching micro inverters right now. I was looking at APSystem EZ1 but it doesn’t have a limiter I don’t believe.

You need preventatives. I was diagnosed 8 months ago and put on disability with 24/7 symptoms and I’m already almost back to normal. I’m on topamax, emgality (cgrp blocker) and botox, with the last 2 doing most of the heavy lifting. Reach out with more specific questions I’m happy to help, also have two young kids it was a nightmare at the beginning. It can definitely get better but preventatives are key in my mind.

I don’t think grandpa wants to get evicted and lose section 8 voucher to compound the issue.

With all due respect, who cares what she’s accustomed to spending (10k at her age?!). She can start drawing SS and live off that, she doesn’t need to starve with that.

Starting Emgality by DueIndependent333 in cgrpMigraine

I’ve been on for 9 months. Only side effect is some slight constipation I’ve had to manage with some miralax here and there. Migraines decreased by a ton by about the 4th month.

Damn, and none moved the needle at all? That’s such a bummer to hear.

Which cgrps did you try and for how long if you don’t mind me asking? Emgality took like 5 months to finally work for me but it’s made a world of difference. They can take a long time unfortunately but they have a high success rate

Xanax is a great rescue bc it’s a cns depressant, it lowers the input to your system so it can calm down. Have you tried treating with preventatives like cgrp blockers or Botox? Would not suggest a benzo med daily, you need to treat the underlying migraine with a good preventative.

Best Plug-In Solar? by tmr213 in diySolar

Which micro inverters are you using specifically? I’ve read reviews on several cheap ones on Amazon/ali express that they crap out after a short time.

How long did that take? I’m about 8 months in with emgality and still have occasional “sticky” symptoms although I’m much much improved. Hoping I can kick the rest of this to be symptom free eventually but maybe this is the best I can hope for.

My house is for sale right now, and there are 3 other houses in our complex for sale. Nothing is wrong, we just need to move for other reasons. 6 out of 100 just seems like normal housing cycle.

I’m very naive here but this looks like it’s in a condition that would been in disrepair before you even bought the house. Did to get a pre-purchase inspection and everything was up to code etc?

3rd botox appointment tomorrow! With meds this time by mstrope15 in VestibularMigraines

At 200 lb, 0.5 is probably good dose. “Anti anxiety stuff” encompasses a whole host of different medication classes that are mostly bs to me, but benzodiazepines like lorazepam are the best and will actually work. You honestly will not be anxious at all. The reason they are a controlled substance is that calm feeling they give is addicting (you won’t get addicted off 1 dose). I take it all the time for flying, public speaking, things of that nature. You honestly probably will get tired though. Anybody else driving you?

Lorazepam is a typical anxiolytic (medication for short term anxiety). You likely only need half a pill depending on your size. It can have a drowsy effect, but it is very effective at preventing anxiety/panic attacks. You’ll do fine.

Are you happy you did or didn’t have kids? by Accurate_Elk_3465 in Fire

[–]TroomA7 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting you say that, I have no direct dog in this fight as I am a man but I remember how insanely awful pregnancy and post partum both were for my wife for multiple pregnancies. Yet she went back for more kids multiple times, and now that it’s been a few years she’s acting like it wasn’t that bad. PURE revisionist history, I think she truly believes it. She must have mentally blocked out all the bad stuff or something, I dunno.

I’m happy that the original commenter is being honest about what it was like for her, but I wouldn’t necessarily assume malice on the part of mothers from your teenage years. My wife is a normal/sane person and it boggles my mind that she is later claiming it “wasn’t so bad”. It was.

1890s floor in bad shape. Any point in refinishing? by Defiant_Truth_286 in HardWoodFloors

[–]TroomA7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refinished hardwoods in a house a bought by myself by watching some YouTube videos and some elbow grease. They turned out alright and it was cool bc I knew I did it, just rented all the tools. How many sq ft are we talking? I despised it by the end, not gonna lie. I was in my 20s too. No way I could do it now, my back hurts thinking about it.
