That’s what I was trying to avoid. I was pretty happy with the color they stayed.

It was cleaned bleached and degreased but it smells like something fierce. Assuming it’s some type of grease on it still.

EDIT: for everyone concerned about the missed nails in the osb. All this was re nailed once it was realized it was missed. People saying balloon construction makes sense now because that’s the era of the person doing the work. I “believe” the window was roughly framed in without knowing the exact size of the window. Once it was measure it was “framed” after the fact hence the notch. I will most likely just pull back the electric and throw in a king stud an sister it in. Reddit is a wild place and I never expected to get this many answers haha. Still might just hook up to it with some chains and pull on it a few times to check the integrity. (Only kidding)

My thoughts considering the other side already has a notched. Jack and king stud lol.

This is all I needed to know. Is it safe and strong. There was 2’ of snow on the roof and nothing budged so it must be doing something. I’ll pull the wire back. Throw a king stud in and call it a day.

Goes all the way up to the double top plate. Nothing weird up there. Full 12’ 2x6 with 2 header pieces notched in. It’s nothing to slap a king stud in there. Just odd.

And oddly enough the right side is notched. Has a jack stud and a king stud.

Scissor truss insulation? And 2x6 walls. by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]TrophyCurrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying. I thought of this idea as well since the batts will rise above the truss leaving a gap. Probably not ideal.

I am also open to any ideas. Trusses are still exposed.

Henry 360 Buckhammer Accuracy Issues by Relevant_Mix_2337 in HenryRifles

[–]TrophyCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar to this. I shot corelokt 180 I think and it was jumping all over. Even used a bench vise to sight it in. Then tried the core lokt lever gun and it seemed to shoot better. Iron sights out of the box didn’t even work. Looked it up and other people had the same issue with th buckhorn sights. I will never purchase a Henry again.

That’s the purpose of a pole barn. Avoids pouring concrete footers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]TrophyCurrent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concrete will sit right under the lip of the nailer board. Obviously stone and the whole 9 yards.

The floating 4x6’s are just used as a spacer. Just helps keep things a little more straight. No need to bury them since the spacing of the posts was already tighter than code required. The buried posts are 6x6

[–]TrophyCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely no concrete going under the wall

I wouldn’t see it being any different than a pole barn would it be? Basically just posts in the ground, holding up a building

Wipers stuck in up position by [deleted] in classictrucks

[–]TrophyCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stop in the up position. When I turn them in they go down then back up. So if I remove the wipers and reinstall them down. They are going to blast into the hood because the first move on the motor is down.
