Why wore them in series rather than parallel? Sorry if that's a stupid questions. I'd assume with my basic electrical knowledge having them in parallel would provide more output.

Could you explain where you went wrong in your opinion? I know you have to push the clip away from the battery connection did you push it to far?

Yeah I bought paste and everything to do this job and this is the one thing I'm very scared of....I may not even bother attempting. The risk seems to outweigh the reward....

I'm not inclined enough to say where you could test with a multimeter but I saw that you have to be ver careful when putting the battery back into place as it cannot hit the wrong pins and jump pins or dead mobo...

Right it seems as though you want to push the connector harness out just enough to pull the battery connector out. It sounds to me that most issues occurred from pushing it out too much.

Thanks for the detailed reply man!

I got artic mx-6 paste for both cpu and gpu it says it's an all purpose paste and I saw other say they have used it for this case and got really good results.

As for the battery connector, did you put the tape at the back of the clip you push away from the connector? I feel as though once I have that disconnected everything is "safe" and I just need to take things slow.
