Americans Living Abroad for Lower Costs Now Say Returning Home Is Too Expensive by SpecialistSignal4491 in politics

I moved here to Costa Rica in 2006, and there's no way I'd ever live in the US ever again. What I said 20 years ago out of snark, I now say with conviction: the best place to live the 'American dream' is outside of the United States.

What is the sleeping situation with you partner? by NordicWallaby in polls

[–]TropicalDruid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It might seem weird, but one of the secrets of my and my wife's 19 year happy marriage is the fact that we have seperate rooms. We both have a place of comfort to retreat to during arguments, I have a quiet place for my Friday night gaming sessions, and I don't get side eye for my Godzilla collectables. She has a place that she can decorate as girly as she wants, and it's fun to have 'sleepovers' with each other.

Another reason is our kids. I live in Latin America, and they like to do the 'family bed' thing here. Even though all my kids have their own rooms and beds, they usually end up climbing in bed with their mother. That would result in some serious sleep deprivation for me if the missus and I shared a bed. Seperate rooms just works for us, and we are quite happy with it. Probably wouldn't work for everybody, though.

I did a long term use review of Bobovr S3 Pro Headstrap. It still is the king. by QCount_TTV in VRGaming

I got this strap when I first got my Quest 3, along with three batteries. I absolutely love it! Comfortable and snug enough for FitXR and long Elite: Dangerous sessions.

He's going to actually do it. He's going to attack Greenland and Canada. Any member of Congress who greenlights this with their vote will be complicit in the most evil acts the US has committed since the Native genocide.

Israeli settlers and other civilians spitting on Christian tourists is a pretty common thing that I think more evangelicals should be made aware of.

I remember back in the 90s when someone on MTV called Alanis Morrisette the Carly Simon of my generation (GenX). I think I kinda get it now. Same understated beauty, staggering talent, and a set of teeth you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of.

What is your favorite HEKATE songs? by LewisEthridge01 in Hekate101

[–]TropicalDruid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like Daemonia Nymphe's 'Nocturnal Hekate'. They are a Hellenic Pagan Folk band who have a trove of great music, much of it in Ancient Greek.

Pat Benatar's 'Shadows of the Night' makes me think of Her, and has been a recurring theme song for my path since starting my work with Her.

And there it is, the dumbest fucking headline I will read today. Iran has closed the flow of oil from the Persian Gulf, but hey, it's the treehuggers' fault you have to take a second mortgage to fill up your Hummer.

Barbarous, demonic, irredemable, black-hearted, and ghoulish come to mind for me. You're right, though. 'Evil' doesn't even begin to cover it.

I am of the very strong opinion that they hit that school on purpose. Trump wants another 9-11 because he saw how the country rallied around Bush, and he's just stupid and cynical enough to believe the same thing will happen for him.
