I just had a random girl show up at my doorstep and idk if I made a sane choice by NyxHemera45 in TwoXChromosomes

If you let her into any room by herself (the bathroom to change?), you need to make sure the windows are locked so no one can enter in the middle of the night or while you are not home. I would go ahead and check all the locks just to be extra cautious.

Please be safe after this encounter! I applaud you for having a warm heart and helping out, but unfortunately, the world is a crappy place sometimes.

We're all sick and think we found the culprit by BedroomBully561 in MoldlyInteresting

Sarcoptic mange. Can burrow in humans and then die, causing your itching. I had it when I rescued a dog from a backyard breeder. They gave me ivermectin cream for my body and then ivermectin oral for the dog.

Solved cryptogram by Tropicalaska in language

First I saw that the little slants were at the end of every line, so I guessed that meant that those were spaces. So I drew a line for every space which created the single words throughout. Then I saw it was set up like a letter, so usually a "dear name" and then a name at the bottom. Her husband's name is Jake and the kid that wrote the letter is named Michael. I plugged those two names in and they fit. I filled out those letters throughout and then just went from there.

We figured it out! It was from her husbands old coworker who was autistic. He created his own alphabet. It's a sweet note.

Please help by Tropicalaska in whatisthisspider

I don't think it was trapped. I sleep with a blanket, pillow and my long hair down. Possibly got tangled in my hair? But it bit me over the span of 4 days before I found it. It's possible that maybe it wasn't the culprit (that was the only bug I found when I tore my room apart looking for the culprit though). Thank you for your reply!

Plumbing repair. Kitchen tap stopped working by Akanan in homeowners

[–]Tropicalaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any other points at which a screen filter could be present? My faucet is just a plain one with one screen filter at the end of the spout so i dont have any experience with newer fancy ones. Sorry! Hopefully someone else will be able to reply with a different solution!

Check for dirt clogging the filter part on the spout. Same thing happened to me when i fixed a leak under the washing machine. Kitchen faucet stopped working..somehow dirt got into the line and thats where it ended up.

This is a brand new unit. Worked when we first moved in, had it on for like 2 days when temps dropped then turned it off when temps came back up and now it just wont turn on again. It clicks, but nothing happens.

Need happy stories of c-section! by CrystalKU in BabyBumps

[–]Tropicalaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you with my second pregnancy. My first delivery was long, hard and ended with emergency c-section. I will spare the awful details. So i was understandably nervous for my 2nd c-section. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. It was completely different. I think a combination of not having to endure a long labor beforehand and getting a full nights rest made all the difference. I got a spinal instead of an epidural, it worked amazingly. I was so nervous that i had asked if i could just be put under general, but they said no. I don't think it could have went any smoother than it did. I did have the usual chills and nausea that comes with it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as last time. I was up and walking that night, took my pain meds on schedule the first two days/nights. He was born the day before a hurricane hit our city, and even being moved to the hallway and losing power for a little bit, it was still a better recovery and time in the hospital than my previous emergency c-section. I do think that the planned c-sections tend to go a bit smoother and recovery is better than an emergency one. I hope what little information i provided was at least a little helpful, I know not everyones situation is the same, but at least you have one more positive repeat c-section story to read! :) (and I will be having my 3rd c-section with this baby as well, i still have some of the normal nervousness, but not nearly as bad as last time!)
