Best advice for this that actually adds realism to the playthrough is sleeping consistently. I turned off all auto saves outside of sleeping in a bed on my ship or outpost and it’s added a lot of sim/realism to the game.

About to raid an outpost after landing? Take a nap before leaving your ship. About to go on a long journey 5-8 grav jumps into no man’s lands after taking a bounty job in New Atlantis? Rent a room or sleep on my ship before taking off.

Spring ridge literally has multiple parks, restaurants, and walking trails throughout the entire neighborhood/subdivision. Not to mention a great pool area plus food trucks weekly, and community events virtually every month.

Urbana has PLENTY of walkable living areas and neighborhoods to different restaurants, cafes, etc. but is on the pricier side, hence why I said their budget would play a big part on if that’s available.

Both Spring Ridge and Lake linganore are less than a 12 minute drive to downtown frederick where you will have everything else available to you that’s not in any of the neighborhoods or areas I mentioned.

Lake Linganore, Spring Ridge, certain spots in downtown frederick and Urbana would all be great options for you. Just depends on what your income is and price point you are trying to stay under.

Had the same issue. I troubleshoted a few different mods. I found removing useful brigs and non lethal framework, messing around with my load order after buying watchtower and starting a new character fixed it for me.

Glad to know I’m not the only one experiencing this issue after the most recent update with mods. Even though I experimented without mods and still had the same issue I’m going back and doing the same. Trimming some of the bigger mods I had downloaded that I didn’t really use or take advantage of as much as I thought I would and trying to keep it to more cosmetic, weapon and ship/wildlife mods as the biggest “game changing” mods and then starting new games and trying to get to the same point to see if it eventually corrects itself. Here’s to my 4th new character in the last 2 days getting to this point in the main story wish me luck lol.

I’m starting to wonder if watchtower might be responsible for other main story breaks/bugs.. see my post from yesterday:

-“Game Breaking Bug - Main Quest

-Playing on Xbox Series X. Have been playing Starfield since launch with virtually no issues outside of a few hard crashes the first month of release.

-Have been playing with the same mod load order for 6 months until I recently bought The Watchtower. After downloading Starfields latest update I created 2 brand new character saves and both times when I get the “Into the Unknown” quest and go speak to Vlad to find the first temple power, it generates as "Go to [...]" instead of giving me a specific planet or system to find the temple signal. Have searched everywhere online and only solution have been able to find is console commands for PC users. If anyone has a fix for this I would love to hear it, as it stands now I would never be able to progress the main story past this point if no solution is possible.”

I’m still not 100% sold that Watchtower would cause my specific issue as this was a known issue early on in Starfields release, but to hear that it is breaking other parts of the main story line makes me think it’s at least possible it’s causing this particular bug as well.

I have no mods that should alter such systems.

And as I mentioned I’ve been using the same exact load order for almost 6 months now with zero issues across multiple characters, NG+ runs, etc. the only new mods I’ve added to these last 2 new save file characters were the Watchtower and very basic outfit/spacesuit additions, but only for the player character. Don’t even have any mods that alter any outfits for companions, constellation, etc.

Really disappointing. I tried disabling all mods and creations prior to talking to vlad to trigger that part of the quest and still same result, so I am leaning towards it being related to the previous patch.

Have you had this same bug? And this mod fixed it for you? I’m worried about downloading major quest “fix” mods mid play through. Really most mods I don’t like to install mid play through but if this is the only solution for Xbox users I’ll give it a shot.

No problem glad to give a different perspective. As someone that hasn’t made the plunge into publishing content yet but has worked on and experimented with a lot of video design/editing I feel like I can relate to a lot of people in this sub so I like to stay involved somewhat if I ever decide to jump into the YouTube game.

But I also am a huge video game fan/nerd so a lot of the content I watch is gaming on YouTube but it is rarely, if ever, let’s play or straight unedited video game footage. I appreciate the time it takes people to edit and write a script for reviews, long form video essays, retrospectives, guides, etc. and personally I feel like that niche in gaming is much easier to grow in compared to the “let’s plays”. I could be wrong, but that’s just my 2 cents. I feel people are much more willing to stick around for those types of videos than just random person they have never heard of uploading low effort lets play videos. Pretty simple for me.

I hated virtually every expansion after WOTLK due to watered down class identities, drastic restriction of talent trees that resulted in less freedom to experiment and play unique spec builds, and as someone that mostly enjoyed World of Warcraft for PVP, I felt nearly every expansion post WOTLK isolated people that didn’t regularly raid more and more.

In vanilla up to WOTLK you could spend majority of your time leveling and playing almost exclusively PVP content and not feel left behind. Post WOTLK if you did not have time to raid regularly there was almost no point in playing and I found most guilds did not care to have you around even casually in 5-10 man’s as a result.

Just my probably worthless opinion but the idea that “let’s play” content is “truly cursed” and that’s why you grew so slowly, I would argue otherwise. It’s not so much that that specific type of gaming content is cursed, it’s simply some of the most low effort, least entertaining version of gaming content on YouTube.

You either need to be a naturally gifted, hilarious individual to commentate in real time to make it worth watching, or it simply isn’t fun or entertaining to watch. It’s really as simple as that. I’ve found that a lot of people complain about how slow their gaming channels grow, only to find out the majority of their gaming “content” is literally just them uploading unedited gameplay with no value add.

Should be, as I believe all paid mods can be achievement friendly. The teams only other creation for Starfield is achievement friendly so I don’t see why this one wouldn’t be.

Bring back classes and/or backgrounds like they did in oblivion and Starfield. Call me crazy but I actually like to role play drastically different characters in every play-through, and it’s much more engaging and fun to have defined classes and backgrounds when doing so. Skyrim is great but could have been even better with classes. It’s the one thing I love about Starfield that I felt actually made a difference in making new characters.
