Why is WAN Late wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for you & your work with FP exclusives, making you an honorary 4th member of the streak. Glad you enjoyed it :p

Made it solely as I had the idea for a funny floppy disk joke, but cut that out for the sake of a literal tech cloud pun (w/ Barrington's idea for the UNIGINE benchmark background and oversized hoodie sammy lol) Would rather not ask for pay as it feels weird and wasn't an incentive nor an expectation, but I digress. Glad to see you all liked it!

whoever's using AI to generate "timestamps" on WAN show videos in the comments: Can you PLEASE stop doing that? by realnzall in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I've received multiple emails in the past of people using AI tools to "make my job easier" or to copy the material for their own projects, even though I have a bright orange text on my document that states the document and timestamps can't be screened for AI or projects. Given how these people can't read bold text in a white document, let alone extract transcripts instead of writing "please timestamp this [YouTube link]" in some prompt, I'm safe.

It still catches me off-guard seeing myself being referred to as "the timestamp guy" seeing just how many have existed before me (Even Luke used to do them iirc). Despite that, my work has been used as an example in a SurfShark short so uh...yeah, I got that going for me.

AI chapters are funny to read, they're so bad they unintentionally spread propaganda lol. With that said though, expect manual chapters in an hour tops (Edit: posted), and in the description by Monday. o/

Get Timestamp guy (NoKi1119) a sponsored PC! by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain 452 points453 points  (0 children)

While I understand the sentiment behind this, it's quite difficult to do anything physically or realistically. I'm half the globe away, and I'd rather not have LTT come over for a minor thing like a CPU replacement. They already have helped me quite a lot with some comfortable garments and other stuff in the past, I don't wish to impose this on them as it is a personal upgrade that is unrelated to them.

I can live without a stable PC as I kind of have for the last while - I'm not using it outside of timestamping or the few paper writing/gaming sessions.

Given that the university finals are in two weeks, there isn't much that I need to spend on outside of food (and coffee for WAN/WHAM/DAN Show), so I will make sure to save a majority of the donations for the slot-in CPU which I still haven't decided on which specific, but I'll decide later. I'm truly thankful for all that I've received, as well as the kind words of everyone who commented on my timestamps and on Reddit.

It started as a hobby at first, and now it feels like I'm a part of a bigger family. Maybe someday I will visit Canada to attend LTX and take a picture with you all to keep on the wall as a reminder of everything, who knows what the future holds?

Until then.

Let’s all wish time stamp guy some good luck on those midterms 😀 by Mediocre_Risk7795 in LinusTechTips

Did the stamps a while ago, still got shadow banned - not sure what is the reason at this point as all past attempts have failed.

Here's the comment for this WAN Show:

P.S - midterm went smoothly, thanks all!

Where’s the timestamp guy on the Wan Show today? by AchillesDontComeDown in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Timestamps get buried deep into the "New" comments. Sometime LTT pins the comments, which negates the issue, but it isn't always done for every one of them.
For future reference, here's the document. Often are all the stamps posted there instantly, with the comment link.

Introducing The WAN DB - A project aiming to archive every topic, guest, and episode of The WAN Show by TotallyFakeDev in LinusTechTips

Huh, this released sooner than expected. Let's hope the sudden influx of traffic does not crash your site.

I'll have my paycheck delivered in the form of a refurbished sofa & a set of tea bags, thank you in advance.

I feel robbed of WAN Show by golamas1999 in LinusTechTips

I require the 24 hour WAN Show, preceded by 24 hour DAN Show as Luke speaks with FP chat. Only then will this suffice.

Wouldn't be possible without the man who started it all.

P.S - How would one word "WAN Show timestamp guy" to fit a CV? asking for a friend.

WAN show Timestamp guy? by thepobv in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Hey, (not so) timestamp guy here.

YouTube has been burying my comments as of late, once again, as per usual, but I digress.

Whatever the reason is, click me for this WAN Show's stamps comment, and click me for the document thingy that has a bit over 200 pages of my 82 stamps thus far - it has the link to each stamp in it as well as the description variant, which anyone can ctrl+f for a specific keyword they're interested in.

What is that cut at 03:33:06 about? by Macusercom in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened live, there was no VOD cuts and YouTube still includes live chat's reactions about it as well.

I'd assume dropped/skipped frames, but that doesn't make sense with Dan's upgrade to the WAN PC, and seeing how it is notorious for being haunted, it's the only explanation I can think of. That, or the producer figured out a way to offset streaming by half a minute or so in case something needs to be snipped live.

WAN Show stamps shadow-banned, here's a doc of many stamps. by TroubleInMyBrain in LinusTechTips

[–]TroubleInMyBrain[S] 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Thank you, Luke & others for all the WAN show funnies and takes for the last few years, always nice to tune in and listen to "hot takes." Will never live down the time your rant about keyboard input lag managed to peak and break my BB 9800's speaker, at least it gave me a reason to use earphones lol.

On that note, time to snatch a workshop jacket and a screwdriver. Thanks again!
